Today's shopping trip to the big Tesco. (16/4/2025)

We've been to the big Tesco again this afternoon. My Mum came with me today because she wanted some Easter eggs and she wanted to choose them herself. So we took a trolley each. My Mum said she'd be quicker that way. I got both the trolleys. I pushed one infront of me with one hand and pulled the other one behind me with the other end. I took the one trolley to my Mum and then I went and put the soft recycle in the recycle receptacle. We went up on the lift. I got the TV magazines first because no-one went to the little Tesco yesterday to get them, then I got an Artists and Illustrators magazine. I got a bottle of water and Mum got a snickers bar for Syd, but it was a double one. Then my Mum went to look at some Easter eggs while I went to the medicines isle. I got some multivitamins and iron for Syd and then I went to look for some indigestion tablets. I couldn't find the ones I wanted, and a lot of them were various different flavours of mint. I didn't want that. But I did manage to find some fruit flavoured ones. I don't know what they're like though, so I hope they're OK. I went back to find my Mum, and she hadn't got any Easter eggs but she had managed to find some Easter cards. There were more Easter eggs in isle 8 anyway! I asked my Mum if she wanted pads today and she said yes, so I went to fetch those and then we went to the fruit and veg isle. I got some parsley, blueberries, a red pepper, spring onions, rocket lettuce and some soy milk from the side. My Mum got some strawberries, and then we went down the next isle where I got a red grapefruit and Mum got some easy peelers and bananas. Then my Mum got a red onion for Syd. Then I went and got 3 bottles of milk for my Mum and my vegan yoghurts. Then my Mum got some strawberry flavoured mini rice puddings. Then we went to the vegan and ready meals isle. I got a pizza, some tofu and 4 packets of meat free bites. My Mum got some shepherd's pies. Then I went to the ingredients and sauces isle and got some vegan mayonnaise, sesame oil, smoked paprika, oregano, garlic paste and ginger paste. I went back to see where my Mum was. She was still in the vegan and ready meals isle trying to choose her shepherd's pies! So I went to the pasta, rice and sauces isle and found some panko breadcrumbs and some sriracha which I didn't think I was going to be able to get. I went back to my Mum at the vegan and ready meals isle, and she managed to choose her shepherd's pies. After that we went round the end of the isle and Mum got a cauliflower cheese, and then we headed to the canned isle. I got a golden vegetable cup-a-soup and a tin of sardines for Syd. Mum said she wanted to get some pickled gherkins, but we'd already passed those in the ingredients isle, so I went back to get those. I managed to find some apple and cinnamon hot cross buns at the end of the bread isle, so Mum got 3 packets of those, with 4 in each. Then we went to the cakes isle. Mum got some creamy scone things for her and Syd for their supper tonight. Then she got a cake for Easter and some of the little vegan cakes that I used to get. I just told her not to tell Syd that they were vegan! Mum had already got some pringles from somewhere when I wasn't looking, so I just went and got some crisps. Then I went to the teas and coffees isle and got some vegan galaxy hot chocolate and Matcha green tea T-bags for me, and some custard cream biscuits for Syd. Then I went to the cereals isle, where the baking stuff is, and got some dried yeast. Next me and my Mum went to the seasonal isle to look for some Easter eggs. My Mum got some very LARGE Smarties Easter eggs for my little nephews and some Thorntons ones for Dave and Ali. But we couldn't find any vegan ones for me. It was almost 4:00pm already by this time, so while my Mum was still looking at the Easter eggs I went off to the frozen section and got myself some cauliflower florets for my dinner on Friday and my vegan magnum ice lollies. Then I went into the next isle and got a box of microwave chips for Syd and some potato stars, Aunt Bessies Roasties, 4 battered cod and 2 other battered fish. I didn't think I was going to be able to get Mum's mini cheese pizzas, but eventually I did manage to find them. They'd moved them again hadn't they? Then I went and got 2 packets of toilet paper, one for the downstairs loo and one for the bathroom upstairs, and then we went to pay. It was already 4:25pm by the time we came to pay. I put my trolley load on first and I started packing my half away while Mum was still putting her trolley load on the conveyor. When I'd packed my half I started helping Mum to pack her half. We had 3 of the bags in my trolley and 3 of the bags in Mum's trolley. The toilet paper, Mum's pads and the Easter eggs didn't go in bags, but just went separately in the trolleys. My art magazine, the TV magazines and my bottle of water went in my tote bag which I hang on the hook of the trolley along with my walking stick. It came to over £200, but that went down to £190 something with club card and TV magazine voucher. By now it was 4:45pm and I knew Syd would be in the car park now getting impatient, so we didn't have time to sit down. So much for Mum being quicker with the trolley! We went down on the lift, and went and put the bags and stuff in the boot of the car. Then we went home. When I got home I couldn't believe how tired I was. But I unpacked the groceries and put them away. Then I had my dinner and watched some telly. Later I put the recycle out ready for the recycle bin man tomorrow. Mum went to the house group, only it's meeting at the Church tonight because Stuart who runs the house group is on holiday. What have you lot been getting up to today? I hope you are all well.
