I was so upset.

Yesterday, I heard the Amazon delivery guy set packages in front of my door. I went to get something, came back literally a minute later, opened the door, and the packages were gone.
Some of you know I receive free things in exchange for a review. That is what those packages were. Most of the things were piddly, and unimportant. But one item was legitimately expensive. I went out and questioned everyone I saw. Long story short, I think I know who did it, but I can’t prove it. Because of the cost of the item I did make a police report. They can’t do anything though.
As a result, I will be sending my packages elsewhere, and I am getting a generic version of a Ring. I was so upset. I momentarily wished them an eternal itch they can never scratch, just like the post office people in the Christmas saga (most probably won’t remember that). I feel better this morning. After all, I didn’t have anything stolen I actually paid for. It’s still upsetting though. The police officer told me some of the most heinous crimes take places behind the gates of rich neighborhoods, and no matter where I was, there would always be worthless people I’d run into. I thanked him for serving our community and told him I appreciated him, all the while trying not to cry.
But I feel better this morning. Also, thanks to the person who did a good job of making me feel better last night.

@ambiepam That sucks. You need to come and live with us. The Amazon guy, even though none of them know us, just open our front door (which we never lock) and walk on in and give us our parcels. I’m waiting for the day they walk on in to the kitchen and make themselves a cup of tea. .

I am so, so sorry. I bet whoever took your packages, followed the Amazon guy to get them. I've been told that happens a lot. You did the right thing to call the police and make a report. I truly hate it, hearing about all of these thefts so much.
I fought against getting a camera, I just thought since my neighborhood is pretty quiet, I didn't need one. There have been a few instances I was very glad that my oldest son and daughter insisted on me having one. And I like being able to see who is there, even if I'm not--and I can talk to them without opening the door if I don't know them. It gives a person some peace of mind. Whoever made you feel better about it all, I'm glad they were there for you, Amber. Again, I'm so sorry.

The Amazon guy himself may have done that as in a matter of minutes who else would have access to it But sadly you have no proof.
I get stuff from Amazon. The delivery guy call guy calls me before delivering the stuff. So far I have no such issue - keeping my fingers crossed

I am sorry that such a disgusting crime happened to you, who would easily give someone something if all they did were to ask.
If you were to advise the companies that supplied the 'samples' would they understand and send replacements, now that you have a secure alternate address? I am certain that a company that values your word and has a reliable relationship with someone like yourself, would understand and be willing to work with you. I would think it a possibility.

They were very nice about it, and their exact words were “we have your back”, but they can’t send more. The sponsors designate a certain amount per reviewer, and once all the reviewers have received their items, they don’t give anymore out. Which I understand. I was afraid they wouldn’t believe me, and no longer send me things to review, but thankfully they didn’t. I really appreciated that.

It's so sorry to hear that Amber. I can imagine how you might be feeling especially after not seeing the packages. They are gone in 60 seconds. No matter the packages were of trivial cost or expensive. What's gone is actually more precious, isn't it?

What is wrong with people? You should report it. Thieves deserve jail time!

That is so unfair having your packages stolen, Can you get them left at the post office and go pick them up like in a rented box?

@AmbiePam I hope the thief never enjoys a single second of his stolen property.

Absolutely scary that they are watching you that closely. I also think it is easier to get away with something like that in an apartment complex. I know that Amazon had a program where they could put your things inside your garage, but I said I would never allow that. This makes me think differently. Be safe, your packages may not be all that is at risk.

That's terrible! I suppose you notified the company that sent the stuff for review. Will they resend the stuff?

I did notify them, but they can’t resend the items, which I expected. They designate only a certain amount of each item to be reviewed. They completely believed me, and I appreciated that. I thought since that one item was so expensive they might just cut me off, but they didn’t.
One item I actually went back and bought since I liked it so much. But it was tiny, and not expensive at all.

I'm so sorry that happened. :( Never had it happen to me, but when "bad" things do happen, I think, "...all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
It may not seem like it when it happens, but it does.

It is sad that some people will steal items from other people not knowing that karma will get them one day.
