I have no interest in going on a cruise*

I went to Cozumel, Mexico every year for spring break for 11 years. I should be there right now honestly but circumstances in the family have changed so the formerly-annual trip isn't happening. I hope one day it will resume.
Anyway we would fly there and stay in a gorgeous condo complex near the center of town and right next to one of the cruise ship ports. (Punta Langosta) Even though we were on vacation we would all be up early drinking coffee on the balcony by 6am to watch the cruise ships come in. Cozumel is supposedly the busiest cruise ship destination in the world and I believe it. There are days when there are SEVEN huge ships at the small island and believe me that locals and environmentalists are not happy about it. It is a huge destination for scuba diving but all of the ship travel and garbage is destroying the coral reefs.
I was never interested in going on a cruise and definitely not after watching people getting off and on of them. They all stream off in a pack like little ants on parade and then in the afternoon they all rush to get back on. It looks way too stressful for me. I just want to get somewhere and park my butt on the beach for a week before I have to go.
If the picture posts it was our view of the Punta Langosta pier from the condo balcony. You can see the swimming area complete with floating iceberg behind where Margaritaville used to be.
*my one cruise exception would be of the Greek islands. That has always been a dream of mine.

I would only take a cruise from the US to somewhere else, like Europe or from Seattle to Alaska or L.A to Honolulu.

I’ve been on a few cruises in the med, and it’s very much like you say: disembark early doors (usually too early) and then back onboard late afternoon. The ships are getting bigger and bigger, and more of them. So when you arrive at a port now, it’s like an invasion. It’s so bad that many destinations are getting sick of too many tourists and putting in measures to restrict access. Venice is one place I know of that is doing this.

I've never been on a cruise but have always wondered if I'd enjoy myself.
When Pretty and I went on vacations, I always preferred going somewhere and, like you said, parking my tush somewhere and watching the world go by. (Sometimes I like watching people and making up stories about their lives. *shrug*)
