Meghan Markle has used the HRH (her royal highness) title recently in a commercial venture despite being banned from doing so by Queen Elizabeth II

I've always been interested in the Royal Family. I remember watching Fergie's wedding to Prince Andrew back in 1984 or whenever it was. I paid attention to the divorces, the affairs, obviously Diana's tragic death, and the relationships that her sons William and Harry have had. I don't know why. I'm an American. I just find it fascinating I guess. I love the current Princess of Wales. She has always been so classy in her relationship with William even when they were broken up. I think Diana would have loved her. Meghan Markle the Duchess of Sussex? I have never impressed by her but I also didn't initially have any negative feelings about her. If it hadn't been announced I would never have known that she is half-African American. I truly don't care that she is. It is neither a bonus nor a deficit. Long story short (too late) she was accused of being beyond difficult both for her wedding (Charlotte's flower girl dress and being refused the emerald tiara that she wanted to wear) and apparently Prince Harry chose not to rein her in. I did watch their wedding and loved the gospel choir at the end. I didn't have any negative feelings about her. . . . . . but man have she and Harry been trying to blow up the British monarchy with his book, her podcast, their Netflix series, and now some new Martha Stewart wannabe home icon on I think Netflix. Don't forget her new household brand that sells runny "fruit spread" (can't be described as jam" and flower sprinkles. What has enraged the UK press today however is that she used the HRH title in a gift basket sent to someone she did a podcast. The late Queen Elizabeth II explicitly told both her and Harry not to use them publicly. King Charles III is unlikely to ever strip them of the titles officially but you can bet your bottom dollar that Prince William will when he takes the throne which unfortunately looks like it will be soon.
The title 'HRH, The Duchess of Sussex' was spotted on a card Meghan sent her friend Jamie Kern Lima inside a gift basket.

It seems to me that she likes the ‘benefits’ of being a royal, but doesn’t like the royals. Despite moving to America to get away from the British gutter press, Harry and Megan are never out of the headlines. Sadly, it’s still mostly negative.

Money, money, money.... she is only about money and being famous, and trying to look generous and nice, when she is NOT.

I never knew that Markle.and William had ever broken up. So that shows just how little I pay attention to what goes on in the Royal Family.

I never liked her, a "gold digger", she would do everything for money (and fame of course).

Meghan does not like the Royal family and made it clear from the start that she did not want to be part of it. She is not suited to the Royal way of life and does not fit into it. She likes the benefits that come with Royal status which is why she continues to use HRH when she knows she should not. Personally, i think they are either in the Royal family or out ....they seem to have chosen out ....when it suits .....i think King Charles, or William when he is King should sort it out, strip them of titles, and maybe give a 'small' allowence. No bodyguards etc. They shouldnt be allowed to have it both ways.

I think the appeal of the Royals is simply it's like one big soap opera. Frankly, I think it's a waste of time and money, but at the same time, I DO appreciate the tradition of it, and just like I was against taking down Confederate statues, I would be against cancelling the Royals. As for what she wants to be called, hey, if men can call themselves women and get away with it I guess she can call herself HRH.

@NJChicaa So what? His position is more symbolic than anything. He doesn't really have any power.
