The Northwest division is such a close race right now, to the point where you can go from first to last in a matter of days. Just ask my Edmonton Oilers. The problem is that the teams in the Northwest have such little points that in order for any of them to make it to the Post-Season they are going to have to win the Division. So will the Canucks make it to the playoffs? We probably wont know until the final few games of the season. But I dont see why not unless they go on a slump near the end of the season like they did last year. Will they make it far in the playoffs if they do make it? Probably not. Luongo will only be able to carry you guys so far. If Nonis somehow manages to acquire Peter Forsberg as has been speculated, and forsberg manages to stay healthy, Vancouver might surprise us in the playoffs.

The Canucks definately need a "game-breaker" like Forsberg can be(when he is healthy)The forward lines just seem to go out there every game with the idea that 3 goals will win the game with Luongo picking up the slack. This will not get them very far in the playoffs.

I think they have a great chance of going far in the playoffs this year. Luongo is a great goaltender, and the rest of the team has been really sharp recently. Right now they're tied with Calgary for the top of their division, so I'm expecting great things from them this year.

The resent surge by the Canucks you may have noticed has been to better goaltending but almost all the games were decided by 2 or fewer goals. Vancouver does not have a "game-breaker" and must rely on team defense and excellant goaltending to become a Stanley Cup contender.

Luv those cancucks but I'm sorry dave nonis you need to really look at were the nhl is going. A more fast paced and offensive minded game, so he brings in a top notch goaltender anda good defensive defeseman, loses a good 2 winger(carter, bertuzzi)a great defensmen(jovo)and replaces them with Bulis,Chounard,Mitchell,Pyatt sorry this looks like a losing team from the get go and look guess what their barley a .500 and not to mention letting marc crawford go for alain V. bad hockey sense dave you should be fired

Part of what they did was to make the sale of the team a little more attractive.I agree they will be a .500 team
