Do you spend a lot of money on your pets?

I have a cat, she gets fed when she needs it and that's it!
But I know there are people out there who buy costumes for their dogs and take them to parlours etc...I don't quite get it but everyone is free to do what they want.
I was just wondering if you guys spoil your pets, or just spend enough to maintain their health and happiness?

I have two cats. I love animals. I don't think that a lot of owners consider them as family members, and treat them like they are inferior. Anyway, I feed my cats premium food so that they are in excellent health. I give them lots of affection, and treats. They get toys sometimes. That's about it.

I buy my cat what he needs in the way of food and litter. I also get him his vitamins as he is an old cat and occassionally some treats or catnip. Other than that I do not buy him costumes or any of that mess.

I just buy food, toys & treats, and that's it. Of course dog shampoo for their bath time also. The people who do too much for their pets, tend to humanize them, thus, making the animals not really happy deep down. Because all the animals want is a good solid leader to follow.

Don't know if I'd call them pets, but I've been spending a lot of money trying to get rid of the mice living in my apt.
Traps, cages, the promise of a cheese tour of Austria, I'll do whatever it takes to get these critters out.
At first they were just going for the crumbs on my kitchen floor, but now they're ordering take-out! It's too much!

I wouldn't say I spend a lot on my pet. Basic medical and preventive treatments is about the extent of it.
I do purchase Chlorophyll tablets for my dog, he likes them and they keep his 'doggy breath' to bearable levels.
Other than that, he is just spoiled, thinks he is darned near human. Sleeps on the bed, eats when and what I do, yet including the onions...
He'd been abused and abandoned before I got him so you could say he gets a bit of extra attention. It took months before he'd stopped jumping or running to hide when someone moved around the house. Now he is a normal pain in the butt, I have to step over him more often than not.

The only extra thing we do other than the basics for our kittens are we get them special kitty treats and they get them twice a day once in the morning and once at night. The only other thing I did is get them special collars. Other than that it is the normal stuff, food and litter.

I spend a lot of money on my pets. But I don't buy them ritzy $100+ outfits or something. I buy them things they love like toys, treats, etc. Mine are spoiled - they are getting more gifts for Christmas than most humans I'm sure LOL.

I dont spoil my dog ( as I look at a pile of toys bigger than the dog herself) but I have paid a lot of money when she got sick. When we first got her she ate some things she wans't supposed to and cast me a few gand in medical bills. But we still love the little pain in the a$$

I have a dog and although i pamper it a lot, I don't really spend money on things like costumes and parlours. my main idea is to just see him healthy and happy. so I spend a lot of money on his diet and getting him some toys to keep him occupied when I am not around.

I admit I do spoil my dogs .
But I believe all dogs require good food high quality and toys .Dental chews because dental decease is a leading cause of heart trouble in dogs .The need things to groom them also even short haired dogs need brushed and bathed .Vet care is also required so even if you don't "spoil" your pets they can be pretty costly .

I do not go overboard on my pets. But I probably do spend more than some people do on their pets. My dogs get a pill once a month that not only prevent fleas, but also prevents many other parasites that can harm a dog. These pill cost about $200 a year per dog. Then, my dog KC has a sensitive stomach. So, she has to have the most costly food rather then cost effective food. Which is fine by me because if you smelled her breath when her stomache is upset, you could swear it could peel wallpaper!
Also, KC has very little hair. So little that you can see every spot and freckle through her thin coat. Soooo, she has to have a sweat shirt or she refuses to go out when it is cold. LOL
Are my pets spoiled? Nope...just well loved. :)

If you have a pet you have to look after their happiness too.....so you should spend enough to make them happy

Well when you have a sick dog that requires one surgery after another, and not all of it is covered by pet insurance, you don't really have a choice other than to spend the money. Our miniature schnauzer has had bladder stones twice and pancreatitis. It's hard for him, and hard for us, emotionally AND financially. Other than that, we cannot really afford to spend other things on our dog, bear in mind he is also on a prescription diet which is costly too.

I think im spoing my cats! Ive been buying cat meal of almost all brands in the market to test if my 2 cats will like them. I bought toys for the cats like an automated mouse. Unfortunately, it didnt work. They kicked and broked the electronic mouse. I bought also a Fur Bed for both. This time they like it especially now that its winter. Now, Im having second thoughts... I think im spending too much for my cats. Dont you think?
