What do you do when your COMPUTER takes longer than EXPECTED time

I really get angry. Rather of good configurations sometimes due some products or viruses it gets slower so i keep on tracking changes in the speed and performance of my pc in leisure by using the tools such as disk cleanup, defragmentation, MMC etc.

You probaly want to scan it it might have an virus it it. I scan mind at least once everyday. I have Adware but it only comes on at 4:00. I have it scheudled to do this. every morning.

i used to format it if gets slow and then install a latest antivirus to save my files.

I dont think one can do much other than waiting

my computer is built for performance and I run a defrag every week to help optimise the performance of my computer. most people are not fully aware of the potentials of the utilities that are integrated into your windows operating system. Failing that. if the problems still arise it could be down to faulty hardware.

I check it for worms or viruses.

my computer is quite slow. i became impatient when my computer takes longer than expected. but after working as an intern in the it department of a telecommunications company i tend to become more patient and just wait for my computer.

i just go to taskmanager and remove that programs which are takeing too much memory and cpu uses ; after that i work what ever i have to do ;

If it's slow all of the time there must be something wrong, may be a virus or spyware, in extreme cases it may needs to be formatted and operating system re-installed, hardware problems usually don't make computer slow it will have more drastic effects.

I too have the same problem,sometimes I feel like smashing this computer but I cant do it.Its too slow and takes much time to open any of the sites .I too am fed up,plz get me an idea if u have got one.

Hi Oh!!! I hate it with a vengance!!! There are things you can do to speed them up.... I got hold of some more memory which helped to speed it up a little.

yup mine is slow i did format it but its slow.. maybe there is some prob in my RAM

Amazing coincidence! Today my comp has been literally freezing up on me! I was making a card for my fiance with ImageREady and it was sooooo slow I felt like swearing at it! It seems OK now, but I've closed most applications and just have firefox open!

Me, I don't get very angry. I am a very patient person. But my partner really gets very angry -- he throws or slams away the mouse then goes away, but not for long as he is a computer addict. P.S. That's why I always have an extra mouse. :)
