A month ago, A guy jumped off the MRT (TRAIN) track to commit suicide in Singapore, his body is slipt into 3 parts.. the reason behide this is due to financial problem, no one employs him and he cant feed his family.. a pitiful case, before he decided to jump off, he gave his remaining $ to his son and ask them to buy chicken rice which is consider a luxury to his family... Singaporeans all around the country try to help his family after his death and his family got a total of $50,000 in donation.. Recently, 2 more guys jumped off the MRT track.. is Singapore too stress to live on nowadays? What will happen in future? T.T

very sad case, but i think it's inevitable in a coutry with high level of competition like singapore. but the good news it, there are many people that still care enough to send the family some money... hopefully the goverment have some plan to prevent this sad story to happen again in the future.

yes it is, alot of people care, but.. sad to say, thats also one of the reason why more are jumping off, they have the mentality that if jumping off can exchange a sum of money for their family, why not? sad...

Yes, I do agree that Singapore is a very strssful place to live in. But if we compare ourselves to our Asian cities like Hong Kong, Tokyo or even Shanghai, we are really not that bad.
I think what the guy did was really too drastic. Even though it's really difficult to get welfare in Singapore, he shouldn't have ended his life like that. I may be wrong, but I really don't think it's impossible for him to get a job like a cleaner at a foodcourt or some cleaning job, if he's not too choosy, though it's definitely very tough work & pathetic pay.
I really feel sorry for the man & his family. To think that while many of us have too much good food to waste & treat chicken rice as such a basic food, it is a luxury to people like them.
This makes me reflect on myself & be really grateful for what I have.

How much ever money the family gets now really doesnt matter... As they have lost their family member for ever.. There is no reason in this world as worst which makes you take your own life.. He should have learnt some new area and tried getting a job.. Money is not everything at the end of the day.. A loss of life is never repairable..
