I honestly thought both Resident Evil movies and the Silent Hill movie were pretty bad. Silent Hill was creepy, but the story was pretty difficult to understand sometimes. I figured it out at the end, but I don't think the people who were with me did, lol. And I actually almost fell asleep within the first half hour or more. And Resident Evil should have stuck more to the video games and books. And the zombies looked HORRIBLE. So both of them lose in my opinion, lol. As far as the games go, I LOVE the Resident Evil series (I own Zero, 1, 2, 3, 4, and Code: Veronica X). I think the Silent Hill games are cool (I own 2, 3, and 4). They're both pretty similar in gameplay and controls (both took some getting used to), except for RE 4 (that's an great game, and I like the new controls and camera, but I hope they put challenging puzzles in 5, because 4 was DEFINITELY lacking in that area compared to every other RE). They both had fun, challenging puzzles. Both of them have very scary moments that make your heart beat fast. RE's Nemesis randomly appearing out of nowhere and chasing me has probably scared me and made me jump more times than anything else in any movie or video game, lol (even though RE3: Nemesis is probably the worst, or second worst, RE game). The graphics in Zero, the remade first one for GameCube, and 4 were AMAZING. I would say that they definitely beat out Silent Hill in that category. I loved the story lines for the Resident Evil games a LOT, and I definitely like them more than the Silent Hill story lines. And I think there was a bit more action in the RE series. Silent Hill has some really interesting, imaginative creatures whereas a lot of the Resident Evil creatures were based off real animals. They both have their good, decent, and bad points, but I think the Resident Evil games are better. Oh, and somewhat of a side note: the idea behind the Resident Evil: Outbreak games is really good, even though the two games weren't that great. I hope they make a great one next time though (and I think they will).

I saw both of them.See..... in my scence though the two film based on a nearly similar matter but I say the two film are two different test.Resident Evil is highly scienctific oriented and the monstar in this movie did not came just like a ghost they came from experience. But in Seilent Hill they came just without any reason of creation.

You're right. In resident evil the creatures are like mutants, experiments gone wrong, they should how they came to be.In silent hill they don't explain them, they just appear.I guess the monsters in silent hill could be symbolic, things the characters make up,demons of the mind.

I loved resident evil the game, and I love resident evil the movie, but silent hill has a nice effect to it, so it has to be both for me :)

I liked them both, but Silent Hill was great, it was different from the normal scary movies. I really liked it.
