Nigeria is trying to pass new laws that ban homosexual marriage, joining gay clubs, reading books or watching movies that "promote" homosexuality and even meeting in public (for lunch, etc.). How do you feel about that? Is it okay to legalize homophobia?

There never even used to be a word "homophobia"! Homosexuality was not accepted years ago. I'm all for the law prohibiting marraige, but the rest? that seems a little tough, though I wouldn't waste my money going to see a movie promoting Homosexuality.

Why be in support of stopping two people from getting married? What good would that do?

That's part of whats so wrong with society. Everybody is so worried about everybody else and what they're doing. If someone wants/chooses/is born whatever to be gay, then fine. Let them be gay. It doesn't affect me and I'd really like to know how a gay couple getting married affects anyone else? It's just the ignorant people in society that think it's "contagious" like a disease or something. As for the religious aspect, (another major problem with society IMO) no human has the right to judge anyone else. That's God's job.
