I AM TOTALLY CONFUSED!!!

Hi, this is my second day here. Yesterday, I posted a lot. I don't remember the number, but the number in the bracket beside my nickname is 10. Someone here told me that 1 discussion is worth only 1 cent. However, I got up this morning and found that I only earned 0.05 dollar. What's the matter? How much on earth is 1 discussion worth? Is it helped to u when more people reply ur discussions?

I think the amount each post is worth varies and only mylot knows the reasons and how to calculate it. I also think that reponding to other people's discussions earns you more. that is just my opinion and I have no proof of that. I know that the mylot guidelines say that you earn $.01 for each image that you add to a discussion but that the image must be relevant to the discussion. I also think that if you are voted as a best reponse for a discussion that you responded to you are also paid more. Again this is just my opinion without proof. The way to really make some okay money on mylot is to get a lot of active referrals since you get a portion of what they earn. I do also think it helps if you get a lot of responses to your discussions. that hasn't happened for me yet but one can dream

From what the amount of each post varies. Also, I think you only get paid for the first post you make to any given topic. I'm new here and what I have learned is that the better your posts are the more likely you are to get paid for it. Never answer a topic with a one word post. That's not really giving advice/your opinion. Like if you say no. Why do you think that? See what I'm getting at? Good luck!

Welcome. You will enjoy MyLot. It takes a little while to learn it all. First off, the number in tht ( ) is how many posts you answered. You will get 2 cents for each one. If you download a photo, you get 1 cent. Referrels are 1 cent, but you get 25 % of what they make. It's a little, but it adds up. I made $126. It's a lot of hours and a lot of fun. If you like what a person responds, then give them a + by their name. If you have more questions, post them, or email me. Good luck and have a nice day.

There's really no set amout of what you'll make. So the whole 1 cent, 5 cent thing...not following you. I keep track of my posting and it varies from day to day. I'm pretty sure that each post is evaluated on content. The ones that are detailed and on point to the actual subject make more. Keep in mind this isn't a get rich quick operation.

each answer you post can be worth a different amount. there is no set amount. the better and longer each answer is, the more money you get. if you answer alot of posts, but give very short answers, you dont get much. and the number by your name is how many posts you have made.

I've already noticed that not every post will increase this number. If you post too often in the same topic it stops going up. It's easier to keep this number rising by participating in as many topics that you can participate in and provide good responses for. However I don't like loose ends so if something is unfinished and still unexplained even after already I have already posted too much I stay in a topic to add it. You're supposed to read the entire discussion first (ie: put all your suggestions into one, maybe two responses) but the human memory is far too short and this isn't a reasonable expectation.

I'm really not sure. However, I do know that not one point is worth one cent. I have 513 points, however I have made $25.72. I believe it depends on the quality of your answers. Meaning, you must respond to discussions with more then 2-3 words. My rule of thumb is at least three lines. If you do short answers like I gave an example of, then I believe you get points taken, or you don't get earnings for it. Plus, just a warning, people will report you with abuse. Also, the quality of the answer depends on your earnings as well. Something else to think about. If you post a picture with your responses, you will get extra earnings for that as well. Remember, the picture must be relevant to the discussion. If not you will not get any earnings. Good luck, I hope this helps you out!! Best wishes!

If you go into your discussion and look to the bottom right side of each response people have given you, there will be three little boxes. One with a + , this is to give a positive rating (if the response was a good attempt at responding to your topic). One with a - , this is to give a negative rating (if the response was 2-3 words or had absolutely nothing to do with your discussion). And the last one with an ! , this is to report abuse (offensive language, people being increadibly rude, etc.) I hope that explains it better. If not let me know.

I've looked around and have seen that I can rate a post, but not how to report a post for abuse. Is that something that is simple to do? Is there a sommon link for it? Thanks in advance.

I have no idea. I posted 25 replies and got 74 cents? But if you get referrals I think it helps. Try inviting a bunch of people?

Nagging doesn't work and may ultimately result in tarnished relations with your friends. My suggestion is to use the search function to look for discussions you know to be of interest to your friends then point those topics out to them. If they see something of interest it will encourage them to participate, and far more positively than being nagged.

hey you don't worry at all. Because sometimes the money gets increases at next day. Even i faced this. When i joined MYLOT, first day i had made 75 points and i had got only 17 cents. and then next day i made only 20 points and got $ 1 more. So don't worry. Your balance will increase today. I made $ 11 only from 7 days. you take care and have a nice day.

the discussions you post are paid according to how much quality and thought you put into the post there is no set amount on what each discussion is worth.usally the interesting ones that people put time and effort into get paid more.

Your main problem is that your probably not posting in detail. I post tons of words per post that way i get like 10-12 cents per post. Making 1 sentence and just submitting that will get u 1 cent OR even less then 1 cent because its so much easier to do. I think this is a new system. The more detailed, the more money u get. So if u answer try to answer in good detail like add some things on the side or say something else but try to keep it related to the topic of course.

It all depends on how much you write and all that good stuff. I have $5.09 with 252 post/points. I also heard you get more money on correct spelling. Not sure. I guess to be 100% sure, you will need to contact myLot.

I think you too dont get very much per post that you write.I really dont get their ways because u get 1 $ for every 50 odd posts and i have already got 1.6 $ for my 40 posts whereas i kno somebody how gets around 1$ for every 15 posts. Its really amazing. !!!!!!

I'm not logged in often, but while I am here I try my best to contribute quality comments and content. I assume that the MyLot folks have some sort of way to sort that out from the one-word responses and inane new topics. I enjoy the site when there is genuine conversation ahppening. But, I cannot get a hang of the system of points either. I'd say that if I use tags that I am earning more than a penney per post, but not so very much more.

There are a few points in the policy that modify your earnings. These are based on observation only and necessarily general because mylot does not like people discussing the mathematical details of how their system works. 1. First off the responses made, photos uploaded are the starting gate for what you may earn and this is indicated throughout the site as the heart and soul of mylot so it makes sense. 2. If someone plusses or minusses any of your responses (with the + or - options available on each response) that modifies the significance of any response +'ed or -'ed and . You must be careful though becuase you are not permitted to solicit to people to use the + or - on your responses or topics. Try to make your responses and topics worthwhile to the best of your ability to get the +'s. Avoid spammy or shortwinded nonsense responses and discussions to prevent -'s. 3. There's the factor of referals for which you get a 25% bonus for each friend you refer on what each friend earns. 4. Lastly there's the new policy regarding removed discussions and topics that break the rules. If you ended up unfortunate and were in such a discussion you lose anything you would have made from participation in the discussion pulled. It's a bit frustrating at first but they need that rule to prevent cut-and-paste type abuse of the system. Just keep going. The earning number does go up as you participate on the site. These all work together so the same level of activity may vary wildly over time as to how it affects your earnings.

If you expect to get anything from myLot at all you expect too much. Don't get me wrong... you will get something if you participate but it isn't much. So I would say don't expect anything at all and whatever you do get is bonus.

its about th quality of your posts, the amount and making sure what you post is relevant to the topic, not just giving short answers. when people reply to your discussions, and you reply to the replys you will earn more, i also have quite a number of referrals who earn a fair bit for me whixh is also a good way to get your earnings started.! good luck.

It definitely help to try and find people who are really bored and would like to kill their time in something more fun than twiddling thumbs. They are more likely to use mylot becuase it really is a good way to make time pass by. Mylot doesn't cure insomnia but it certainly gives me something to do when suffering from it (I don't really like the TV). PS: I have a 16-hour bus trip coming up. I really wish the Greyhounds had accessory adapters (so I could run an AC power inverter and use my laptop with the AC cord) and wireless internet (then I could spend that 16 hours on mylot). I'm looking at a 16 hour trip, most of it in darkness and hence no interesting scenery (I also know from many past experiences with cars/buses I simply cannot fall asleep on moving vehicles unless I am like 2+ days sleepless then I don't really fall asleep I just get moments of time shifting (and usually at worst times like missing my stop on the city bus becuase I momentarily time shifted for 5-10 minutes). The battery in my laptop, even if it wasn't shot, would not hold up for 16 hours (which is why an accessory adapter for each seat would truly be nice).

I'm confused too but I'm learning little by little. By reading the answers to your post, I get perhaps the right info on how to increase the pay. But then, even if the pay is low, it doesn't matter much to me for I enjoy reading and learning from posts and discussions. And I can also suggest and earn a little. That's already good for me. I hope you and I and others will learn.

I really don't know what the formula is but that does sound low for your posts. Maybe add some more lines to your responses or read different categories? I average about 2 cents or more for each post lately on average but it definitely fluctuates
