If someone close to you told you...

that they murdered someone, and proved it to you, would you tell? By close I mean someone that you have genuine closeness to, not say, your estranged father who you have contempt for...Someone genuinely close to you.

As much as I love my family and if I find that out, I'd turn them in. But, I wouldn't do it for my child. I'd cover for them. It's different to me when it comes to my child and everybody else in the family. I don't know what it is, but I love my kid more than anyone else in the family.

perhaps because your child comes from you, was created from you, therefore is part of you. :-)

Depends on the reasoning, I'd say probably not because I'm a very loyal person. However, if the person is obviously just "evil" or crazy, then yeah, would probably report it. It really depends on why it happened. Sometimes, I'd feel more comfortable making the judgment call myself than letting it sit in the hands of a jury.

even if they were just "evil" "crazy" I wouldn't rat on them...might distance myself from them if there was fear of becoming a next victim or something or if they killed someone else I cared about then I may have to step in and...um...murder is so messy :)

I would have to know all the issues but I think they have to face their past.

first I would want to know why then I would take it from there but the end result would be them getting turned in my me without a doubt.

I would. I don't care how close I am to that person. I don't care what their reasoning is for doing it either. They should be in jail.

I agree but they need to get it behind them so they can move on as well.
