thanks for your response. If the clothese brought for sewing brings money, why not replace the needle? Or was it free stitching?

No, I wasnt mad at my husband or needle being broke. I was mad at his work because I want my husband to be protected good when he go inside the burning house to get rid of the fire. When he got hired on, they give him this old, dirty with holes banker clothes that I was not happy with. Firefighter need a good banker clothes so that they can do their jobs. I had tons of needles to replace the one got broken.

Yes I have a sewing machine. I have had it for about 28 years and I love it much better then the new ones. It broke on me about 10 years ago and I bought one at Walmarts then returned it and got another one. I used that one got through the costumes I was making for our church Christmas play then gave it to my oldest daughter and got mine fixed. She loves it and still sews with it. My youngest daughter bought a new one and like me didn't like it I had a chance to get her one just like mine and we both use it (I broke mine again!) We have made quilts and I make clothes. I love to make the Daisy Kingdom patterns for children and have been making them for about 10 years now. I have to get mine fixed but the repair store is about 75 miles away --one way- but I would rather spend the money and time to get mine fixed then buy a new one!!!!

I think people love quilts. Is it possible to make and market quilts there? Why not contact garment factories (there are plenty in Bangalore and has provided jobs for million women folks of Bangalore) in your area and ask them to outsource the jobs. Thanks for your comments.

Thank You! I went to work 18months ago and have had trouble with my hands so I haven't been sewing but I have worked through it and plan on going back to sewing and getting my machine fixed. I turned our basement into a large sewing room and it sure is a mess! I have everything out and need to clean. That is my plan for next week. I have a lot of fabric and patterns. A lady in our church just had twins and I would like to make her blankets also a lady I work with is pregnant and I want to make a blanket for her. I also have a Christmas costume to make for our church program. What country are you from? I am from the United States.

That is very good. Get all the important tips of sewing from mom, before she says enough is enough. YOu can do wonders with sewing machines. My wife never goes out to tailors for her cloth stitch work. Thanks for the response.

I do have a sewing machine at home but we do not use it anymore. I last used it when I was in junior high scholl when we had our sewing classes. I think our sewing machine is broken and its hidden in the attic.

Modernity has taught us some bad lessons. At times of need, we run helter skelter for the services of a tailor or someone who is having a sewing machine. It is always better to keep the machine in running condition and keep using it. The skill acquired has to be passed on to generations.

Sometimes, if you want to get the odd things done outside, it costs helluvalot of money. It is better to keep the machine in good condition and use it periodically. Thanks.

We have 2. I don't use them. They seem not to get along with me. They get along better with my mother and grandmother. They make all the prepairs to the clothing and stuff. You know!
