Why do some people use 'sexy' pictures for their Mylot?

I do feel that people use sexy photos to attract more attention to their discussions and their profile. I stay away from those profiles unless they have a good discussion topic. I am sure there are some people on here looking for either their soulmate or something else. I am afraid to ask though. LOL

they might be thinking it will be a lead to open their profile and so people can see their discussion and reply to it

I don't know why they use these pictures. Maybe they just need something to boost their ego. My daughter and my son met there spouses on the net but they just posted a photo of themselves in their ordinary everyday clothes. My younger son showed me a beautiful picture of a girl he had met on the net. She eventually came to Ireland to stay with us for a holiday. Well, you could have knocked me over with a feather when I saw her. This wasn't the girl I saw in the picture. This girl was as ugly as a plate full of mortal sins. Even her personality was different, and after a month of her company I was thankful as I waved good-bye.

Well, I thought your bee with the pointy nose picture was very sexy! Ah, don't waste your energy. People are going to use whatever they like. I don't think they're doing it for any real reason other than fun.

My avatar is called "Gurgle" .. it's very much like how I feel when I wake up first thing in the morning ... I have fibromyalgia syndrome so I'm a 'slow starter' when I first wake up ... poor old 'Gurgles' somewhat surprised or startled look is me dragging the covers back and trying to work out what day it is .. who I am .. and what I have to do that day ... heheheh ... DOH !!

I don't know why they do that either. As a married woman who's been through it all I think it would be preferable if the men posted a photo of their wallet. Which reminds me I must change my photo.

I think people just use pictures just because. I don't think there is any reason behind them. Why did you pick the one you picked. I picked mine because is easy to spot and well I like cherries thus the cherry tattoo on my ankle. I really don't think it really matters.

Mine is a picture of me, but it's just one i happen to like. XD In my case though i'm not looking for a "rich lover" or anyone else to scoop me up and take me away, i just use this one on all the forums i post at. o_O

By the way, sometimes they get what they want... A friend of mine, a lady older than me is now happily married! Her husband isn't very rich but they are happy together. She is actually very smart and is helping him a lot with his business. And it all started with a 'sexy' picture on the net!

I know I asked that last week. The girls look like hookers. I guess they are just dreaming. I think it is hilarious too. I guess we have great minds for thinking that.

I think people do it to attract people to their discussions. I happen to like my picture. I dont think that its sexy but I do think that it looks nice. I think a true pics say the kind of person that you are .

I don't get it either, all I can say is I never use pics or avatars like that because they attract the wrong kind of people. I guess those are the people that use them ..lol I hate it when i am on like Yahoo talking to my mom or Sister, the only people I use IM for, and someone always has to pop up with that A/S/L? crap..Ever heard of Hello? Or right away, do you cyber? What is up with people? Or am I just getting old? I don't think thats it. I think some have class and some do not. I have met people years ago online that I still keep in touch with to this day, and are really good friends, but they never said anything like above. I kind of like my Avatar here...I must obey my weiner dog, or she sleeps on the couch instead of with me..lol

I think in our society, being sexy is so prevalent that it's considered a norm. Therefore, people who do it see nothing wrong with it, feel it's perfectly normal, etc. Personally, I think it's silly.

Its not to find someone, it is simply to try and become the most popular by getting people to add them. They just want to be seen as having one of the most friends out there. Its kind of like what people do on myspace, and all that, and just try and get as many friends as possible.

No kidding, it's pathetic. No way I would do that. Fine you don't want to put a real pic of yourself, I don't like that idea either. In fact I may scare some people off LOL no just kidding, I think... choose something you like or find interesting to use for your avatar. You do that, then no one will question anything.

I think it's hilarious to see all the avatars of gorgeous WOMEN and you have a look at their profile and they're male! lol What is the point behind that? =) By the way...my avatar is me and I can prove it because it's the one from my drivers licence! lol (I tend to avoid camera's so this was the only one I could find on short notice...)
