I used to keep a diary and write in it every week or so about my thoughts and experiences. I stopped at about 20 and really regret it now. i didnt even keep what I had. I would now love to go back and be able to read my thoughts and remember some of my experiences and ups and downs. Ive led quite a colourfull life and have had many strange and wonderfull people in my life and wish now I had put it all on paper to look back on like old photographs. Do you have a diary and if so what do you write in it.

I too used to keep a diary when I was very young. However, my brothers used to find it and taunt me about what they had read in it, so I scrapped the idea of ever putting my thoughts or actions on paper again. Now, I keep photgraphs in an album and write little notes under each one, with the date and details of the photos. I also have a fmily tree on my computer and I give as much details as possible about each person. I hope these will passed on to my grandchildren in the future but my personal thoughts, I will take with me.

I think it's a great idea to keep a diary of daily events or interesting things that happen, but like Alexandria I wouldn't keep my personal thoughts in it. If I had been doing that over the years and the diary had ever been found I can guarantee that nobody would be talking to me now. LOL!

i used to keep a diary when i was young too, and i still keep it. once or twice a year, i clean up my room. i mean, really clean up my room. i take out all the old stuff and throw them out. however, my diary is the only old stuff that i don't throw out. sure, i might have sounded really immature back then. but i still like reading my diary and laughing at myself and the way i thought about things back then. my friends and cousins told me keeping a diary is cheesy, that's why when i was in high school, i stopped writing in my journal. during the last few months though, i started writing in my journal again. and boy, it sure is relieving to write in it again. and besides, you can also practice your writing skills by writing about your daily experience in a diary.

I wish I did.... I used to when I was first married, but it seemed so boring! Now that the kids are so busy, it doesn't seem like I have the time... but I should get in the habit of writing things down before I go to bed....
My mother writes in a journal every single day. It's very basic, just what the weather was like, where she went for the day, if she had a good day or bad day.... I should try starting out like that, just basic, then add to it if I want to... Thanks for the idea!

I personally do not believe in diary. It is not a contemporary reckoner. As you progress in years, you seem to regret some of the actions which can make your depressed. During my school days, I used to maintain a Song Book with cartons and drawings to beautify the book. It was a very good experience till I lost track of school and my songs. I just sing away from memory now. "When I was just a little boy, I asked my mother..... ". Diary I hate to keep and do not want to reveal in later years how I fared with what and whom.

Hi friend, during my school and college days, i too had the diary habit. But now i don't have time for diary writing, but i don't regret for it. As we have blogs and we can keep our important things in it, mylot is also a great diary for us.

One of ways to vent the heartaches is through writing in a journal. The things kept inside can be poured out through sliding the ball of pen on the pages of paper. The more you write the pain from within, the lesser you feel the pain. Looking back from the things you had written, the sad thoughts from the past will make you smile and the feeling of disbelief for being hurt with shallow things that put you into depressions.

Just last week I decided to keep a journal rather than just posting my thoughts and ramblings on online blogging sites.
With a journal, your only audience is you. You don't have to be scared of being grammatically wrong or having little vocabulary. You can state whatever you want in full disclosure. And to go back to these written thoughts is such a pleasure. You reminisce those little things that made you laugh or cry. It is like keeping a history of yourself. It is more than your thoughts, it is a part of you.

Not, but already I had. Today my life is a book completely opened, not necessary more to keep my secrets in a notebook, now can say to the world what I think, therefore nothing more will be able to reach me. I am very happy today, much more that when used the daily one.

I keep an onine blog at livejournal.com. I find it being online it's much faster to write in, and no one can see it unless I want them to. I write in it almost daily with the daily crap that goes on, so when I'm 40 if I still have access I have a LOT to read if I want to go through it. Memories tag keeps important things in mind and easy to access.
It's awesome though. I've often found material journals seem to private to share, but with my blog it's all the same thing, but I'm not scared to share it at all. Even my boyfriend reads it and uses his own... sometimes ^^0
