They are giving out big buck bonuses one such person received. How the largest bonus in Wall Street history breaks down:
Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein received a $53.4 million bonus.
$27.3 million in cash
$15.7 million in restricted stock
and nearly $10.5 million worth of options to buy more Goldman stock
His regular yearly salary is $600,000.
This immense bonus breaks a record set just last week when Morgan Stanley gave a $40 million bonus for CEO John Mack.
Can you image getting such a bonus?
Residents of NY are upset because these hard working people are getting such huge bonuses. If you received this large bonus would you quit your job?
What would you do? Let me know

I geuss that the companies that have been using these individuals to put there money in the Stock Market must really like what they see, and if they are making real good investments for the companies that are getting a real good return on the dollar then this would only be a percentage of what they are earning from the investments, if this is the case then this would be a bonus worth it to the companies.

well let me just say the past 2 years I have gotten a bonus at my job, well this year they said we may not be getting a bonus, it all depends on the end of the year results and they will not be done reviewing those until January. BUT i am sure our CEO will be getting his 6 million bonus this year like he does every year.

I am a resident oh NY and I'm not angry about the bonuses they received. I see it as motivation to climb the ladder at my company. Why should we be mad because they received these bonuses? If I received this bonus I would probably retire and invest the money. I would spend more time with my family.

Yes and No
yes because the hard work and commitment to the company is duly rewarded.
No because, the world population is about 6 billion and about 1.6 billion live in China and 1.2 billion in India. The percapita income is very low in developing countries. The wealth is created by the contribution of factors of production of all the Nations.Hence there should be justified distribution of wealth in the world.

not only in new orleans. See everyone doesnt know the truth about Katrina. Those that were shipped to other states are also homeless. They toke away the trailer homes and those that were put up in hotels by our government where set out of the street when the bills were not paid. Spike Lee did a documentary on Katrina, it showed on HBO, it was a 4hour documentary and definite must see. I cried the whole time.

Wow, that's amazing. 53.4 million dollars is a huge amount for most of people. But I think it's possible for everyone in the world to earn such a big amount, but the precondition is you must work hard and have this belief that you can earn that much money.
If I received this large bonus, I will choose to continue my job, that's how I can earn another 53.4 million bucks. LOL. just kidding. :)I just think that the job which can bring me such a huge amout must be my favorite job, so I will keep up my job for any sake.

I think I won't quit the job. Cause actually everyone needs a status even they rich. But I try to invest some of that money in some reliable places:)And some of that I will give for charity, cause in ours, there are some that was part of someone who need it.

This is way to much but this is a sore subjct for me right now considering my hubby went to work thursday expectintg there $3000.00 bonus they were told they would get only to find out they didnt get anything First they were told fedex lost there checks and then they were told they did'nt deserve one. This company owns 3 shops total they got a letter 3 weeks ago congratulating them on being the highest earning shop among the 3 and then they find out the 2 other shops got HUGE bonuses. Needless to say noone is happy and of course noone is returning there phone calls.
