Yes, no matter what you do, I think the Spam email continues to come. And especially when you sign up for things from certain sites can be the worst. I usually try to use one of my main Email accounts anymore for almost everything and just try to block the addresses I do not want to continue to Email me, and go from there.

Blocking reduces spam a lot but I also found out that once you join a site that sends spam they sell your email among their members list to many other sites which also sell the lists again so I keep getting spam from different sites that are not blocked.. endless loop :(

I get the same amount as you. Sometimes even more. I put blocks, but they go thu anyway. I don't know what else can be done about it. I did notice that the more things you sign up for, the more spams come through. Please give me a + if I made you happy with my response. Happy holiday season to you.

Yes, despite the "privacy" policies that most sites declare i find that many do share your email with other services (that do the same) and you end up with ever expanding spam amount.

In my email account, I will check it before going to bed and when I get up in the morning it is well over 1000 new. I hate it. All of it is spam and stupid stuff. I don't even check the emails out anymore...just delete all of them. You never know where a virus is hanging out. I now have it set up to where all my emails that go to my bulk folder are immeadiately deleted so I don't have to mess with it and worry about a virus getting onto my computer.

You can at least check the "from" and "subject" without actually opening the email, this way you are in no danger from viruses, especially with webmail like yahoo and hotmail, if you use outlook or outlook express, you can set it to "download headers only" so you can see 'from" and "subject" without downloading the email itself and can delete it from there or download the genuine ones.. it's just that by deleting your bulk folder without checking you may miss on some important emails from friends/family or notifications from sites like mylot regarding your account.

The problem is I have to check my bulk mail too, it can never be accurate and many genuine emails do end up there, so going through the bulk folder is still a pain. thanks for your input.

I received about 10 spam mails everyday. Although I use a spam filter. But It can't work well. Many spam e-mails couldn't filtered with it. We can do anything to them because it's very difficult to stop it.

Unforunatley I can't find anyway to deal with it, reporting it as spam on the provided link in your inbox may help but I didn't see much improvment. PS. I checked your topic and posted my opinion there, rated the discussion a + too :)

This is really strange, I never see anyone not complaining about spam! So how you do it? or you just don't use your email address a lot? I'm sure if you join 3-4 sites no matter how they claim they don't share your email address you always end up with increasing number of Spam.

I just hit the spam button in my email account and what have I done is I have edited the settings in my yahoo account so that whenever I mark an email as spam that email id gets added to my block address list so that next time that email will never reach my inbox or my bulk folder.

Yes that is really annoying, I had this problem with both Yahoo and Hotmail, I find an email from a friend in the bulk folder and I make sure to mark it as Not a spam but I noticed that a few months later an email from the same friend is in the bulk mail folder again :( It happened with more than one friend and I don't know why, so bulk is not really a good solution but at least it helps to sort out emails faster. Thanks for stopping by :)

Not only non spam lands in the bulk folder sometimes mail from some id is permanently blocked. For eg while registering for Mylot i gave a rediff ID and it never delivered the email confirmation mail. tried it twice but failed both times. Finally igave my gmail adress.

Between all of my email accounts I recieve about 50 junk mail a day. This is because I sign up for a bunch of things I never actually intend to respond to but get paid for doing so. So really its worth it.
