If it is within your power, do you? Could you please mention one or two occasions where you contributed to charity just to inspire our mylotians into charitable work. I give lots of goodies like stationery kits, plastic boxes, useful articles, drawing books to the schools nearby my home.

well, i have been working as a volunteer with CRY(Child Rights and You - it's an Indian NGO);sice my school days. And to tell you out of my experience as a volunteer; middle class people (on an average) are more open to Charity than the upper class...there are people who spend lavishly on their life style but dont care a damn about doing/working for a good cause...

I subscribe to your view that the richclass do not think of such activities. I admire the type of work you have been doing. In fact I did buy more than 400 cards for my office couple of years ago, when the email was not very popular. CRY is doing good work. Thanks for interesting response.

donations do not always come in money form. anything we share, like, our talents and gifts, is already a form of donation, especially if such is able to make a difference in someone else's life.
donating blood is something to be really proud of. it's something i, too, would want to do, but i'm always not qualified because i'm almost anemic.

i dont contribute money to charitable organisation but i will dedicate my time to help them. there was one time, that i actually walked in to an old folk's home and offer to volunteer my service to help the seniors...i was there nearly every evening (that was before i start working) to serve them their meal and to just sit there and talk to them...i think it's better than to give them money...seeing the smile on their face is priceless :D

Yes. You are right. It is difficult to know whether the money really reaches the needy in the form of money or materials. There are rascals who make money from the donations. It is no mean a task, rendering the voluntary services. These services are greater than money. Thanks for your response.

I have contributed things such as toys, brushes things like that. I have also given time to help I was training wit hthe police deprtment and we helped others by giving and I also did habitat for humanity it is where a bunch of people get together and build a house for a person who can not buy one that has kids and needs we also give them food and things of that sort. I dont do it to be praised or for community survice I do it because others are less fortanit to things and we should all help out even in the smallest ways but dont help out just to hang it over someones head I have seen that many times and I find it sad.

i'm a member of our chapel choir. it's a fairly small group, with just around 7 of us as regular members. every year, we make sure to conduct at least 3 outreach programs. in fact, we just held our outreach program for 100 underpriveleged children living in our community. from the donations that we were able to gather, we hosted a party for them and gave them lootbags containing rice, fruits, toys. it was a very rewarding experience.

thanks. we really find joy doing this. this february, this month of love, we intend to visit sick children in hospitals and give them toys and fruits, and simply just spend time with them, may be we could read them stories or something like that.
