Having been a fan of metal--dare I say, metalhead?--for over twenty years, I would have to say "nu-metal," then again, they may be closer to the middle ground. There are so many labels these days, it's almost impossible to accurately categorize.

hmm..they're kind of hard to categorize..they seem to be a hybrid of the two.i think i'm gonna have to go with nu-metal though.

You know, I dont even classify music into that kind of detailed catagory. Ii always amazed me how passioant people are about how they class music. I've seen so many fights in forums about it. To me music is in one of several catagories. One of wich is rock. Tis means everything from aerosmith to disturbed to tool to kiss. It keeps things simple like that. remember when music meant simple pleasure?

in my opinion, they are caught in between the two genres. heavy rock, beacuse they are indeed heavy, and they rock. not the heaviest though. but heavy enough to be called a heavy rock band. Nu metal because they incorporate drop C# metal riffs with soaring vocal melodies(reminds me of 80's new wave vocal timbre, except the "uwaaaa"), without growling, unlike the typical heavy rock which relies on heavy distorted chord progressions rather than riffs. did i make sense?
