It will be like much of my past New Year's... We have no idea what we will be doing, and we always seek something fun to do. But in the end we will probably go out for a late dinner, then just chill at home til the ball drops!

Well this is what we did... my aunt and uncle came over to hang out with me and my parents, then my fiance and I went to eat at East Side Mario's (mmmm) from 8:30-9:30. We came back to my house to play Loaded Questions (I won :) ) and watch the ball drop.
He left at 1, the family just got to sleep a few minutes ago, and I'm tyring to force myself to shut down this computer!!

we're staying at home and eating a home cooked dinner. we'll have the airconditioning on coz it will be smoky outside, what with the fireworks in our area. my husband and son have asthma so we have to be cautious not to trigger it.
happy new year!!

We will be staying home also as far as I know. My hubby isn't much on parties! The fireworks are bad in my area also but not as bad as they used to be. We used to have a ton of teens on the street and they would all try to out-do each other with the fireworks.

Here, in our country, the Philippines, we celebrate New Year’s Eve differently. We have our media noche, a midnight meal prepared to be consumed after watching the fireworks outside the house. All of the family members are required, as much as possible, to wear polka dotted shirt or dress. Then, all the kids and toddlers are encouraged to jump during midnight so that they will increase their height way beyond normal. Funny, right? But, this is how things are going yearly for us.

We are throwing our usual monster party, it should be fun, we have a rule at the house to enter the party you must leave yoru keys with us. It has worked for the last 5 years, once they enter they are stuck for the night.

Wonderful idea! I can only imagine what your house looks like the following day though! Thanks for being such a good sport and responsible for your guests!

kareng, I know what you mean about staying off the roads! We will celebrate at home, also. So many loud and I do mean loud fireworks around here. Our 3 outside dogs go nuts so we let them inside on New Year's Eve. That's the only night they get to stay in, unless it ices or snows.

I think New Years is probably going to result in a nice quiet night by the fire with my fiance'. No real plans to party-it-up or anything like that, rather I would like to have the time to relax and stay home.

Hi kareng!Wish you a merry Christmas and happy new year. I do not celeberate Christmas or new year by going for parties or buying new clothes or drinking. I normally spend every holiday with my boyfriend. We go around sightseeing, shopping, eating out and movies. At home we cook together or watch the TV together.

when i was younger it used to be tradition to go to my uncles house, it stopped for several years. last year on new years eve, he had my little cousin max, so he said on christmas he will once again continue the new years tradition for max's birthday! hopefully we can make it, my daughter is sick and i haven't been feeling too good lately!

We will be going to a party like we do every year. Though this party is held at our church! So obviously there will be no drinking! We usually play board games, eat a lot of food and talk! There's also volleyball going on and other games in the gym. With me being pregnant and having three young children this is a great fun for the family night!

Wow, is this thread from New Years last year? Well since I came accross it again, let's talk about this year!
We decided on the quiet night at home thing. We are going to get food or make food, and just watch a NY special and maybe a movie before. Last year we went out to eat and it was just such a downer trying to drive home through the traffic and still make it home before midnight so we could see the ball drop. Restaurants aren't really open late like I think they should be on that night, so your only option is expensive tickets to a party OR going to a crowded bar. So you can see why staying home sounds great :)
