Be careful what pictures you put on the internet. Once, someone stole my daughters pictures and claimed them as their own. Has anyone ever had this happen to them before?

I've heard about other cake decorators (as I am) having people take cake photos from their websites and placing them on their own. It's a good idea to mark you photos with text so that this won't happen quite so easily.

Whatever software came with my computer allowed me to place a text box on photos, then I'd place my blog address over the face of photos I wanted to protect. I've lost my harddrive and haven't had a chance to replace it, so now I'm on a laptop. So, can't look it up for you and tell you what the software is. Someone else here might know more. I think there are a lot of programs that will allow you to do this though. Sorry I can't be more help.

Okay, because you scared me, I just changed my profile photo. Originally it was a picture of me with my son, and I really liked it. Too bad there's weirdos around. I know there ARE weirdos because one of them on this forum stole one of my posts, re-pasted it, and pretented it was theirs. This was kind of sickening to see, because the post was very biographical and individual.
Anyway, now my photo is the Annunciation by Henry Ossawa Tanner, which is one of my favorite paintings. Do you like it? :)

I've heard about this happening. I had a friend who put ultrasound pics up on her website and someone stole them claiming them as her own. Also heard of people stealing pics of kids and claiming them as their kids. Someone has to have a real problem if they do something like that!

I've had that happen, but the person that did it to me had a very good reason. I used to breed and show cats and had a website for my cattery. I had some cats that were regional and national winners so my cats were very representative of the CFA standard.
Some backyard breeder that raised persians that barely resembled a true persian, except that they had long hair, stole some of cat's pictures, along with other reputable breeders to put on her website.
Why they would steal baby or kids pictures though, is beyond me. Maybe it was someone with no children that for some reason wanted people to think they had one?

A friend of mine was a victim of it, and we have no idea why the perpetrator did it. Frightening.
