I enjoy doing abstract/geometric type art and I use regular markers for my artwork that I do on posters and paper. I use fabric markers for designing tshirts and paint pens for just about everything else. Do you draw? What do you use to draw and what materials do you like drawing on? Is it a hobby for you or do you try to sell your artwork?

I'm not that good at it but I like to draw simple things, like butterflies and horse heads. Its more of a doodleing thing with me. But my boyfriend loves to draw and he is very good at it. He drew all the designs for the Christmas projects he made. Here is a picture he drew and then woodburned. He made it for a friend of mine who likes cows.

Is that plate safe to eat off of? Is there a sealer that you put over it to make it safe to eat from? Or is it strictly art?

I LOVE artwork!! I have tried my hand at drawing, etc, but I am not very good at it. So I do paint by number pictures LOL Those are very theraputic for me as well as being fun. I would love to have more developed art talent, but I am probably only about average.

I do geometric art on eggs. :) But I also do other art and on eggs also. I love art! I have a huge passion for art! I have never tried doing any of my artwork on a tee shirt with fabric pen...but I may just have to try it in the future. :)
What sort of things do you do on shirts? Do you have any pics of the shirts that you do? I would love to see some pics. I have seen that one geometric piece you did on your profile. I loved it!
But I have not been able to go beyond an egg for the any type of geometirc art.
I will have to take a pic of some of my eggs to post for ya. :)
Besides doing eggs. I also draw, paint, and love photography.
I love surrounding myself with art. It inspires me.
My daughter is turning into a little artist. It is amazing what she comes up with and the talent that she has with her age! She is only 7 years old and in first grade. So maybe when she gets older, I will be able to get her into an art school for her high school....if she still has a passion for it. :) At this point I know why she loves art is because she so wants to be like mommy and draw and paint.

Yes, I do have pictures of my tshirts and will include a picture of two of my shirts. I did these shirts with fabric markers. That is awesome that you do geometric art on eggs and I bet your artwork is great. I would love to see some of your art and your decorated eggs. I bet that your daughter is a very good artist as well.

That is awesome! I love it! Wow! I know that had to take a long time to do the whole shirt. Because the process on an egg is time consuming, it can take me 4 days to a week to get the same thing done on an egg. I will have to see about taking some pics of my eggs and posting them.
Thank you so much for posting those pics! I love looking at what others do!!!!

Art is my salvation :-) Not sure where I would be without it especially when life gets difficult! I mostly draw and do lots of pen and ink as I design for the craft industry. I paint a little and use photoshop, painter and illustrator, all great tools to develop composition and colour skills. Art in all its forms is a totally absorbing activity for me and I love it that there is SO much to learn. I hope that as my grandchildren get older I can teach and share with them the delights and challenges of creating all sorts of things and that art comes from observation.

The red, white and blue bowl you see at the top is one piece of my artwork. I designed the bowl using paint pens. I do that type of art on other materials as well like tshirts and posters and bigger bowls and plates. I will include more later when I am at home. :-)

I love art.. unfortunately I cannot make the pictures I see in my head come out of a pencil or anything else! Everyone else in my family has fantastic drawing and painting skills and I missed out on the gene. I took a drawing course once, and was pleased with some of my results. I doodle here and there, but it becomes very frustrating for me so I don't try very often.

I've always wanted to be able to paint. I never had any formal training, just tried doing it on my own. My biggest problem was also trying to get something to turn out like I could see it in my head...my skill and knowledge was not up to the task! It would get very frustrating! I took up decorative painting as it is quicker to learn and you can get a painted result in a fairly short amount of time. I tend to have a limited attention span as I get older, also!LOL! Part of my difficulty in painting, was I wasn't trained in drawing, either. All I know about perspective and such, I have picked up by being a cake decorator for the past 25+ years. I have done a few paintings on canvas, though. All of my stuff is here
http://www.picturetrail.com/estherlou and I sell stuff with some of my artwork on it here

I like to draw still life and realistic drawings/portrait. I use water colours and colored pencils for my drawing and paintings sometimes I paint on T-shirt using fabric coloured pens and sometimes air brush with fabric paint. For me it is more of a hobby.
