My husband and I are staying home. There are to many drunk drivers on the roads these days. We are going to have a nice dinner and enjoy some time alone. Now that our kids are grown and gone we enjoy the time we get to ourselves.

When my boys were growing up, we used to watch the 3 Stooges marathon on NYE. I would let them pull out the sleeper sofa and eat snacks in the living room (they were not allowed to do that any other day of the year). When they became teenagers and started going to New Years Eve parties and dances, I went out too (I was a single mom). Then I remarried and settled back into staying home again. As I said on another post, my building is behind where the ball drops so I've watched them construct and test the ball this week...so I've already seen the ball drop...:) so I'll be staying home and having a quiet time.

That would be so kewl to have an apartment so close and be able to watch it live! You should take advantage of it and have a party with friends and see the ball drop REAL TIME! lol Very neat! Hey... I'll be over for NYEve! LOL

It's just who I'd rather be with on that first day of the new year. My family.

I usually spend few hours with my family specially my sister, my mom and my aunt. And then at late night I and few of my friends go for night outs and enjoy and have fun in some parties. This is a very happy season for me as I also have my birthday on 3rd jan and I love it as there is celebration all over.

In years past we always stayed home and watched the ball drop at home on the Tv. But this year we actually made plans to do something different. We'll be playing a special bingo night at our Casnio. It should be fun, I hope.

We usually stay home and watch the ball drop on tv. Last year, my son stayed up for the first time.
This year, we are going to a Notre Dame hockey game that starts at 4pm. It should be a lot of fun.
We will still be home for most of the evening.

I stay in too. I hate going out on New Year's Eve. I'd much rather be with my family and celebrate with them.

I used to make it a point to go out, but the last few years I have stayed at home and just had friends over. this year we were thinking about just getting a hotel room so we are not out on the road when all the drunk people are out. I don't really mind doing something low key for New Year's Eve anymore. I kind of enjoy spending it with close friends instead of at a busy crowded bar or restaurant.

Usually the drunks behind wheels is what keeps us in too. If we decide to go to my mum & dad's then we get there and spend the night usually.

I usually either stay home or go to my moms and help her babysit because everyone else is wantng to go out. Happy New Years! It is getting to be to dangerous for people to go out anymore to celebrate. To many accidents and killings because the booze is flowing freely on that day and so do tempers.

I prefer to spend with wife and kids on the special occasion in our home. It brings very happy to all the family members. It is some how better that doing shopping with the kids. They also feel happy as they get things of their own wish. Any way spending the eve happy is more important than we are in home or out.

I like to go out for a long drive on a lonely road, away from the city and its pollution.

I usually stay home with my family during New Year's Eve. My mom would usually cook a delicious meal and my dad would set out the fireworks. that's what a lot families do here in our country. we would wait for the clock to strike twelve and make a lot of noise. we also watch the fireworks display outside. it's very nice and colorful..like glowing flowers in the sky.
