How do you Make Money Working from home??

I began my freelance career doing web design and graphic design. It is a lot of work, and if you are simply one person, no represented by a reputable company, it pays little and you're expected to do ALOT!
Then, I discovered Associated Content, and I started making a few bucks here and there. But, through AC I met other people working from home and started to think up new ways to make it possible, and easier.
I started a few blogs, wrote some informative articles, set up Adsense and worked on affiliates. It has been relatively profitable, but not big bucks by any means! Until recently, I thought that the only thing I was getting out of writing blog posts and articles, was the few bucks I got for writing them.
But, just this week, I have received two, out of the blue, phone calls about freelance positions, paying waaaay more than I currently make! One of the employers was actually impressed with what he called, "Shameless Self-Promotion." As an internet enthusiast, I take that as a compliment :)
Anyway, both of the companies offered me freelance positions...One writing weekly articles, the other doing moderate CSS and HTML work. They found me from my blogs and from my AC articles...Pretty sweet. Shameless self-promotion might have finally made my few bucks per article more than worth while!!!

I too work with AC. http://www.associatedcontent.com/join.html?refer=15512
They are a wonderful site to make a little extra money writing, but far more importantly, you get your name and talents out there for others to see. I think it is wonderful that you are being recognized for your talent. You should be. I am hoping to write much more for them during the coming year and do some of that "shameless self-promotion" as you call it. BTW, what is your name on AC, I'd love to add you to my buddies list.

Well this person seems to be resorting to cutting and pasting in the MyLot box which is thing to be deprecated. Please don't resort to cutting and pasting and degrade this forum.

Beware that scheme is called ponzi scheme and it is illegal to do that. Those whoever participates in it will see their end in prison. Online scams are dangerous than offline scams. So please be careful about these lucrative things.

Wow...that is incredible. You took some risks and look where it has led you. Keep doing what you have been and you never know where it might lead. I also write for AC. Mostly I use the money to try and fund a few small internet endeavors. Whatever your dreams, follow them and plan to have them come true.

Wow!! Cool and Way to go. I am wanting to be a Published author someday, and that is why I have always been looking for ways to get myself noticed, and such. I just recently started on Associated Content, and needing to post more there and see what happens. I also like sites like this where I can meet others and get New ideas as well.
Well, besides this site, and Associated Content, I have an Online Business I do, and always looking for more ways to make some Extra $$ from home as well. I have to work Full time for someone else as well due to many Health issues that are quite expensive without Insurance, but eventually would Love to be able to stay at home and make $$ to support having Good Health insurance from somewhere. I've had my Own Business and still have a storage full of stuff I used to sell so that would be an option as well if it payed enough for itself ever again too.

Hi Kraus! More power to you, you sound like a very dedicated, extremely courageous person. Never lose your positive demeanor and forward thinking attitude! Love it! Keep it up with Associated Content, I can't vouch that every writer on AC will get opportunities rolling in, but I can say that the more you write, the longer you stick with it, the better chance you have. Like I said in my original post, I had been writing for them and on my blogs for nothing next to chump change for each article...well, that's not true, AC does pay pretty well. But, I have been writing for AC since June of this year, and only today received those more profitable offers! Believe in yourself and stay strong with "shameless self promotion." :) Good luck to you, look forward to your success story coming soon to a MyLot discussion near you! :) -Christina

I am also an artist (among other things) and worked as a tattoo artist for awhile. Instead of going the route you took, I studied all of those techniques in order to find my own way but in a market that hasn't been saturated and in a way that I would find interesting and challenging... those two words 'interesting and challenging' gave me the idea that I needed. I make puzzles for money. weird, esoteric puzzles.

I believe that their are very opportunities that you can make serious money online. i believe all the ones that say you can make alot are scams and only a couple give some but its still not much. If you are one of the lucky few, then enjoy working from home.

There are a lot of scams out there for making money online. I am a web designer, graphic designer and internet enthusiast. I don't search out get rich quick schemes, it's just not my interest. You can make money online if you WORK at it. I have added up the $ I made and the hours I spent working on AC and my blogs, and it comes out to about $4/hr...lol. It takes a lot of work, but if it makes you happier to work from your own home, doing things that make you happy (writing, researching, being an internet dork, web design) than it's worth it!

Congrats Christinamedia. Perserverance can yield great rewards. I am interested in learning graphic design. I'm no artist but I want to do greeting cards and business cards to sell from home. Is there an online course for graphic design or would you suggest going to a school? Your input is appreciated.
Best wishes for a prosperous New Year.

I am a freelance writer, concentrating heavily upon homeschooling. I write for AC and have about 5 clients that I rewrite PLR articles for regularly. I'm opening a homeschool site with a members' section soon. I have a lot of affiliates that I promote for homeschooling and have written my own ebook too. I also sell bath products and candles. There is also one client that I blog for twice a week. Plus I'm here on MyLot. It's a lot of work but thankfully most of it can be done on the go because I'm a homeschool mom who's only home 3 days a week LOL
