How close have you been with your brothers/sisters?

When we were young I really enjoy much of the time playing with my brothers and sisters by the lawn. Playing different games that as if we never are worried about anything to do for tomorrow. Happy moments that are real treasures nobody can buy. The stuffed toy maybe ripped off or torn out the next day, and we simply can find another one- a replacement.

i am happy you braught up this subject
i have a brother for alote years most of our childhood and adulesense we were not close
when i was young i did not like him because he got all of the attention as i thaught (he was born 5 years after me)
and then at a very young age i left my parents house and started a life of my own so i did not see him much nor talked to him
but suprisengly 7 years ago he started contacting me first by the telephone and then he started coming over to the city i leave in, a short time after he started coming over with his gf partner and somtimes we met with my friends and his together
so he made the first move cause it was important to him and now we are very close and he is important to me
suprisengly we are very similer in our opinions and reactions even taugh we were growing up apart
and it is wonderful
what made you bring up this subject??

i'm the youngest and only girl, and i've 2 brothers. they are close and i'm left behind. but it's okay, we get along well anyway. now that we're old enough, we just keep in touch. i guess not the ideal closeness between siblings, but we are okay on that. we know that we are always here for each other no matter what. i guess that's what's important.

With that perspective in life that you have shared to us maybe you can react more to the topic I have started about " peace.....possible".

I enjoyed it too. I have one sister who is about 5 years younger then me. But we always had a great time together when we were younger, it sure is not like today with the kids. They have no idea what it is to really play and have some good old fashion fun. So heres to the old days.hehehe

We were close when we were young and would not care about anything but playing and eating chocolates. But when we grew up we grew apart because of our diffferences.

well i agree. happy moments are treasures that nobody can buy.. these are the priceless things that we own.. well me and my brothers and also my cousins had a good time when we were young. we were always playing around and having a lot of fun. we were sneaking off to play outside and together we were punished. well its nice to be punished with company because you will just laugh it off afterwards and do the same thing again. its fun being a kid and being able to fool around with your brothers and sisters!.

Well, after reading all the comments, how much do I envy you guys and galls! I am from a huge family of ONE kid = ME ! Everytime I hear people talking about their brothers in sisters, i feel a small pain in my hearth. Although my parents took very good care of me, I'll always miss the feeling of loving (or hating!! ;-) ) a brother or a sister. That is probably why I had TWO children... I did'nt want them to feel that too.

I have two older brothers. One is 4 years older and the other only 2 years older. We were all very close because we were so close in age. I was closer to the one only 2 years older when we were kids. We did everything together. We both liked palying outside, riding bikes, digging in the dirt etc. The oldest brother did not like being outside so I did not play with him much. Now that we are all grown I am closer to the oldest brother because he comes home more often. I LOVE both of brothers very much and do not know what I would do without them. They still protect me and spoil me today.

And that sounds like you have a lifetime "bodyguard"
for free. Well you must be very good to them then, that
they never forget you.

Meaning some sort of variations on closeness has been changed due the effect of video games. Well but if play with them you still be closer with them actually.

I think my brother and I were pretty close when we were younger. Now... we're still close but not very close, not the type that we tell each other about stuff regarding relationships of our own, he's much more secretive and enjoys his private space as for me I'm really talkative and spontaneous, the difference between our personalities somewhat became a factor why we never really got very very close to each other.

When I grew up we lived three miles from town and my brothers (6) and sister would walk to town to go swimming or to play tennis or go to the park. Just for something to do. We didn't always get along but we always found something to do together. Don't seem that way now adays. Got to have money to do things. I treasure those days though that is for sure.
