Fainting spells -- Have you experienced them?

When I was young I frequently had fainting spells, especially when I stayed under the heat of the sun and when I was hungry. It always happened in school, and I felt so very weak and ashamed afterwards. Luckily there are always people around and I don't remember bumping my head or something. The feeling is horrible!

Fainting because of sun heat is commonly seen in many people. As constant exposure to sun leads to dehydration it leads to fainting spells. Another cause is when you are not taking your diet/food properly. Dietic deficiency causes anemia which is responsible for fainting spells. There are some common ways of avoiding these fainting spells. Always take nutritious food in adequate quantity, drink lot of fluids, avoid exposure to sun as much as possible.

fainting - fainting
i did not never faint, but i have seen people faint and what i have seen is most people faint because of a weakness, disease or over exhausted. and i think when you fainted in the sun it was a case of heatstroke.

first of all theres no reason that u shouild feel ashamed just because you fainted.it happens to the best of us.whats more i think that you should have a check up just to clarify matters.people can faint for a lot of reasons.my friend faints regularly and thats becasue it is as a result of his mitral valva prolapse.anyway do have a check up just to be sure and i am sure that you will do fine! http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003092.htm http://www.med.umich.edu/1libr/aha/aha_syncope_car.htm http://parenting.ivillage.com/tp/tphealth/0,,hfk3,00.html

I feel faint quite regularly - usually in shops which are crowded and over-heated. I also tend to feel faint when particularly stressed - don't know why!

fainting lady - fainting is a phenomena there are rules for whether the person is warm or cool.
Have had a few fainting spells in my life. When you when I would stand up from a crouch for exampe in the garden I would become light headed and dizzy. However, the fainting came with pregnancy. My hubby was there so it was ok. Was more careful from then on. Once fainted as a kid after the vaccinations in the school. I kinda like the woozy feeling that tells me that I might faint. Gives me chance to sit down or something. Did you know that there are fainting goats and there used to be fainting sofa's!!??

Before I had my children, when I worked at a meat department, I fainted quite a few times. Later, we found out I was severely Anemic and Hypoglocemic (sp?) and that was why i would pass out. It is quite embarrassing though. But all it took was an adjustment in my diet, and some Iron supplements and I was as good as new.

Sorry to hear that happened to you. I never got those until I got pregnant and didn't eat much one time. I almost fainted, but I caught myself and sat down until it passed. From there on, I always had enough breakfast.

The first time it happened to me, i was at work, my first job. It was in a supermarket, and we were closing, counting our cash. I had been feeling sick to my stomach all night, but still stayed at work. Then all of a sudden, i remember telling the superviser i wouldn't be able to finish couting my cash and BANG! I hit the ceramic floor so hard, the following days i had somewhat of a blackeye! I stayed unconsious for what seemed like hours, but then found out it'd been only a few seconds. The same night i fainted again, while telling the story to my mom,but this time, i was almost a minute. So i went to the hospital by ambulance, they kept me the whole night, did a series of tests and could find nothing! The following days, i felt weak, but then got back on my feet. I still get dizzy spells sometimes and i have to lie down before i fall down. It's kind of scary, imagine if this happens while i'm driving??

I've thankfully only fainted once in my life. It was winter time a few years ago and we were walking back to our car from the grocery store. The next thing I know I am waking up by our tire. I have no idea what happened or why, but its never happened again.

When I was pregnant with my 4th child, I fainted all the time. Doc told me it was due to pregnancy. It happened for the whole 9 months and that's the only time in my life that I had fainting spells. It was scarey cuz I was affraid of falling and hurting the unborn child. My most embarresing fainting spell happened at work in the big boss's office! I was horrified!

OH I know the feeling. I get heat exhaustion very easily. To give you an idea I got it once in December in Michigan. They had the heat on and we had to wear coats from the school to the church and once there had to keep them on. I got over heated and passed out. This happened a couple of times. Some of the other students thought I was faking it to get attention. I hated that it happened and I've had it happen since whenever I get over heated. It's a royal pain.

Have you ever gotten it checked out. My 12 year old was going through the same thing and it turned out to be a heart murmur. Although it is a functional murmur when she got over excited or exerted she would faint. She has learned to eat certain foods and to stay away from certain things and she is fine now. I would go have it checked out there are many reasons why you could be fainting. Good luck.
