I remember most that the Best Man (my husband's nephew who was almost 8 at the time) was wearing this black and red jogging suit (the kind that is shiny and slick) and cowboy boots, lol. My Maid of Honor (my friend's 13 year old daughter) and the flower girl (my friend's other daughter who was 8 1/2) were in jeans and flannel shirts. And I remember my husband's nephew yelling "slip her the tongue" when we kissed. He was a character back then (now he is just a pain in the butt teenager).

Yeah it was crazy. The kid was only 8 too. At first I was kind of mad that he ruined the most special moment of the whole thing but in the end it is what makes it special for us. My husband laughed through the whole ceremony which got me laughing.
You know--one of my husband's extended family taped our wedding but I have never seen the tape, lol. There were only a few good pictures of everything since my dad was taking most of them but he also wanted to enjoy the wedding.

I have been married twice. I'm going to tell you about the first one. We were kids and ran away to get married. After the preacher married us, we went back to the hotel room. I wanted to see the mar. papers one more time, as I was a virgin, and felt better reading the paper. Well, we didn't have them. My ex lost them on the way back to the hotel. A few minutes later, someone was knocking on our door. It was the police. We were so scared, as we eloped. Ended up they were giving us our papers, as someone found them on the street.

Hahhaha, this is it. The plate of rib bones we past around. When we were deciding on the dinner, we thought prime rib would be great. But, we were asked boned, or not boned. We didn't know. So we had all the bones in one plate, and the meat on their dinner plate. Our wedding was small, only with very close freinds and family. So, it wasn't all that formal obviously. But, that is what I think about first.

I was so NERVOUS! I was so excited I was to the point where I was nervous about being excited. I was totally afraid that I would mess something up so bad. In the long run, it was my husband who messed up and lightenend the mood. He dropped my wedding band in the floor he was so nervous. It went rolling away and he had to grab it. It was the cutest thing ever. We are still very happily married and about to have our 3rd baby! My son from a previous marriage makes 4 so we have a very full yet HAPPY home!

how quickly it went by. You spend months planning and making sure everything is perfect, and then the entire day flashes by in a blur.

Yes, exactly! I find the same to be true. A year of planning over in a flash. And some of those tiny details that we worked so diligently on, went unnoticed by many!

Well, I had a 7 year old and a 9 year old lighting candles. Both were really responsible kids and did an amazing job. We didn't know that one of the things they were using to light candles was broke though. The wick fell out of the end once the kid got to the candles on the stage. The fire hit the tull and spread everywhere. I heard people gasping and I leaned forward to look. My friends didn't want me to see so they blocked my view. All I saw were 4 adults on the stage stomping at the fire. It was a pretty small fire because you can't tell much in the video. I was kind of sad because that would have been great to send in to America's Funniest Home Videos.

Oh yeah, that would have been great for American's Funniest Home Videos! It might have put one of them through college!

That most of the people there were hypocrits and liars. They turned around and tried to break up the marriage right after the wedding. Sorry it is the truth. The single past friends were the biggest problem. They had their own agendas.

I remember the love in my husbands eyes. He looked so handsome and I knew that I was making the best decision that I had ever made.

awww, village, that is so sweet. I too can remember that look in my husbands eyes. My husband did the most special thing this past Christmas. I opened a package in which there was a picture of him. He had gone to a professional photographer and had a picture of himself made for me. In the picture, he is sitting there with his arms crossed, and I swear, it is the look he gives me across restaurant tables and at other private moments. It was framed and ready for my desk at work. It was easily the most special gift he has ever given me.

It was hot, it was 90 degrees outside and the church had been closed up all day. They opened the doors and turned on the AC less then 45 minutes before the ceremony.
It was over 100 degrees. I nearly passed out. I was soaking wet by the time we left the church.
The 85 degrees it was outside felt cool, for the 1st 15 seconds.

In Indian wedding, after marriage, the bride and groom are supposed to fall on the feet of all elders and take blessings. Since already they will be tired from two days function and the preparations running around before marriage, falling at every one's feet will be very tiresome. But misunderstandings will creep in by falling at some people's feet and not on the feet of others. So my husband said suddenly, "Instead of falling on everybody's feet separately, let every one stand as a group and we will fall once before that crowd" and made us do that. This has saved me bending so many times and I thanked my husband in my heart.

When my husband bent down to kiss me, I started giggling so we didn't have much of a kiss. Everyone else thought we just pecked each other but the truth is I was giggling. Only our pastor knew...LOL
