I would spend $3000.00 of it on gifts for family , friends and families that need help. The rest I would put up and save.

Yea with all that money why just blow it all, if some is saved then I can use some of that to take a vacation with my husband in the spring or summer.

I would get my van fixed so it ran right and I could keep my kids warm while driving in it. The stupid ac/heater unit went kaput LOL. Then what ever was left I would get the kids some nice things and some warm coats then give the rest to my mom for helping me out last year while going threw my divorce.

Pay off my charge cards and with what is left over I would take my family to the Bahamas for a little R&R. We deserve it. A little sun to brighten our moods.
Oh it is nice to dream. Who knows maybe by Christmas I will have earned enough money on MYLOT to cover the plane fare. *lol*

We almost went to the Dominican Republic for our Honeymoon, but at the last minute my husband changed his mind because of the wonderful time that we had in the Bahamas 2 years earlier. We should of went to the Domincan Republic, we didn't capture the same magic as the 1st time.

I don't celebrate chrismas, I'd be boring and invest most of it -- I would buy pressies for my mum, sons and grandchildren but I do that anyway not just at christmas time.

I don't celebrate it coz I'm not a christian. I see more validity in the old festivals before the christians got hold of them and corrupted them. The solstices and equinoxes. They say christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus but he was born around Oct,3 BCE. Using the christmas as his birth day was opportune because that was the time of the Roman Saturnalia. The early church overlaid already existing festivals because it was easier to recondition new converts than go against what already existed. Besides I find the commercialism of christmas extremely unpleasant.

I would put the whole amount as a downpayment for a piece of property. Then I would just leave it there until the property values have gone up and the grandkids are old enough to buy their own houses and then I would sell the property and give them each a share of the profits to use for a downpayment for their own houses.

Well, thank you very much. .....Fifty years down the road, when I'm old and grey, and need assistance getting around, I'll have a place to go. As sweet and unselfish it may seem, it is also selfish. A plan where everyone wins. And that to me is the only kind of plan.

Even with that amount of money I'd still not waste it on an over-priced console that'll be cheaper in six months!

Good question! $10,000 USD is equals around Rs 450,000 INR and using this money, I can built a house with around 900 sq. feet single storeyed house within 3 months. The house consists 1 hall, 2 bed rooms, 1 kitchen, 1, sit-out, 1 bath room, 1 toilet. This is enough for living 6 people.

I would pay off some bills first, pay taxes on property, and then buy gifts for my family.

Well, about half would go for a newer car. I'm not a big "gotta have a new car every year kind of person." And I'd try to find something to invest in that would give me a return with the rest. Maybe real estate.
