I have two cats. One loves food so much, that she wants everything that I eat. She loves pancakes and pizza. She will steal cherios when I walk away from my bowl. She begs for everything and anything. And, she eats her own food. She is not finiky. How is your cat's eating habbits?

Ozzie likes cake and cake like things and cheese puffs and potato chips. Merlin likes pop and ravioli and then Marco likes to drink tea. Max one of my daughters kitties likes yogurt. They are all reasonable eaters they do not tend to get fat just winter weight. In summer they are all muscles the dear boys.

Wow, and I thought my little girl ate some intersting things. She goes nuts for cherrios, pizza and pancakes. Thanks Willowlady, for responding to me. Your cats sound great.

Just a little comment about the tea, make sure the tea is caffeine free because caffeine can be poisonous to a cat. Any tea without caffeine should be okay.

My cats eat alot but my dog will eat everything. Hot peppers, ice cream, vegatbles you name it she will eat it. Im lucky though I can leave a full plate of food in front of my pitbulls nose and she won't touch it unless I say she can and she even go's as far as keeps the other animals away from my plate when I leave the room.

My cat is hungry all the time. She only eats dry cat food, wet cat food, tuna, cat treats, and once in a while some rice.
My mom's old cat on the other hand would eat jello, anything else you left sitting on the counter, and would drink from a straw if you left your fast food cup sitting on the counter. I wish I could have gotten video of that.

My cat that has the most interesting taste in food is one that came to me as a stray. She was just a bitty kitty, so I do not know how she picked up the taste she has for salsa and beans, but she has always seemed to have it. She was so tiny and flea infested that the product we bought for her fleas threw her into seizures and neuro symptoms. She spent the first four days I owned her at the vets under observation. She is now beautiful, black and silky and seems never to get fleas. If we have any kind of Mexican food here at home, even just chips and salsa, she wants a taste. She doesn't beg for anything else, unlike the other two beasts.

Wow, what an intersting story. You had me laughing with the Mexican food and chips and salsa. She is so lucky to have such loving parents to keep her healthy, bless your hearts. Thanks for sharing this with me.

Hi ther again Margie...there are many cats who will eat just about anything if they are given the chance, however there are many food ingredients that can be very toxic to cats such as onions or garlic for example. These can cause Hemolytic Heinz Body Anemia and is fatal to cats. It's always best to never allow cats to have table scraps as well as this is one of the leading causes for feline diabetes, obesity and other associated feline disorders.
Please consider reading the following article about the dangers of table scraps to cats: http://ww.peteducation.com:80/article.cfm?cls=1&cat=1397&articleid=833
Sample list of toxic foods to avoid feeding cats: http://www.peteducation.com:80/article.cfm?cls=0&cat=1276&articleid=1029

To start off with I have five cats. I usually will give them soft and leave dry food out for them and they all eat both types of food. As for table food, I usually will only give to 1 of them. His name is Silver and has a unique personality. He needs to feel as if he's number 1 in the house, he always wants to be held like a baby (not a lap cat) and also follows me around and greets myself and my husband at the door. You can tell his feelings will be hurt if you don't pay enough attention to him. He is very jealous of the other cats. We have a microwave cart next to the table and he sits there waits for his taste of what we are eating.
He has eaten pizza, bagels, cereal, chinese food, you name it, he's tried it. Even if he doesn't really like it he needs at least one to 2 pieces. I try not to give table food to the others so they won't get use to it and not eat their food, but he is my special little guy.

Thank you for sharing all that with me. It was great to read. Interesting how cats are so unique and different from eachother, isn't it?

I have 2 cats and they want to eat all the time, But only cat food. They don't eat human food. I've tried giving them some before, but they weren't interested. I even tried giving them shrimp once and they wouldn't eat it. The one cat will eat dog food once in a while.

The only food that my cat has ever eaten (other than the lizards and birds that he catches) is food made for cats. He does eat ravenously though! Watching him eat, you would assume that he doesn't get the opportunity often ;)

My cat never steals any "people" food. We have never given her table scraps so she doesn't know anything about them. She eats her food from her bowl and the occasionally kitty treats. She is a very healthy cat and I wouldn't want to do anything to jepordize that.

Cheerios, pancakes and pizza? Wow...that is too cute. Benta is funny. She will wait for you to follow her to the food dish, and even if there is food in the dish, you have to pour out a few morsels of fresh food for her, or she will not eat what is left in the dish.

Funny. My big guy does that too, with his dry food. But I have to wet it, move his face to it, and then he will eat. My little girl is the one that eats any thing and everything. Thanks for telling me about your sweetie.

My cats' eating habits are disgusting. I have one who likes to catch rats and leave the mess by the front door for me. Another one likes to catch little micey things and hollow them out and the other doesn't eat much as she is very old and now blind.

My cats try to steal everything! I use to feed them only whith their own dry food and sometimes I give them something from my meal. Before giving them pieces from my food I rinse it whith water because cats should avoid to eat salt.

I didn't know cats can't eat salt. What does salt do to them? Thanks for answering my post.

My mother's cat Poochie is the same way. She isn't picky at all about her cat food. But she wants any and everything my mother eats. She goes so far as to jump up and try to steal the food as it is going into my mothers mouth..lol She also steals cherios and the milk..hehe She absolutely loves pizza, she eats all kinds of veggies, rice, potatoes. One time my mother was taking a bite of a hotdog in a roll and poochi bit the other end while she was taking a bite. It was funny but actually I can't stand the darn cat. She is an absolute terror. She stalks all the other pets in the house, then swats them and runs away.

Hahhaha. She must be related to my little one. But, mine is so darn affectionate. She is just hungry and wants to eat everything. She spent the first 6 months of her life in a cage. We adopted her. So, she is just nosy I suppose. You got best response and 5 rating again. Thank you for answering so many of my posts.
