Me either. I have cats, and cutting their claws is enough. I gave you a + rating so far. Thank you.

I have no idea -- mind you, I could never grasp the concept of dressing dogs up either -- or any pets for that matter -- isn't that just cruel? I mean, I know you might love your pets and appreciate them, but when you get to the point of getting them £2,500 outfits, you really need to learn to let go a little -- right? Having said that, people can enjoy themselves however they want -- each to his/her own, right?

it is not cruel they make special nail polish that dries faster and is non toxic .People want thier pets to look nice and some enjoy being pampered .

I`ve never seen dog nail polish but I`ve sure they have it. I wouldn`t want to polish their nails. besides my dogs would have a fit. lol. I don`t put sweaters or shirts on them either. we did see some funny dog shirts at target today though. one said "I poop you scoop" and another one said "I`m with stupid" haha! I thought they were so funny.

The people that own the poodles put red polish on them. Bows and cloths, even earrings, can you imagine?
Those dog shirts sound funny, thanks for sharing. Have a great day dear.

I would like to have nothing better to do with my time than to paint my pets nails. And if I didn't have the time, I would like to make enough money to send my pets to be groomed and pampered. I particularly think it is foolish. But, would I feel the same if I had funds to squander away, I don't know.

I don't know why People do it and I don't think it is good for the Dog either

I have always wondered this too. I worked as a groomer for a summer and I was shocked at how many people came in with the polish they wanted applied. My job was to wash the animals and the owner clipped them, dried them and fluffed them. Everytime someone came in with the nail polish I was given that job. I felt redicules doing this and the dogs always acted ashamed. LOL I think it was always a poodle I had to do and I even asked one lady why she did this to her poor sweet pooch. She said because her dog had to have polish if she got a haircut. It was pampering thing. A lot of people treat their animals like their own, so I guess this may be why.

But it seems mostly to be poodles that I have noticed. Thank you for sharing your input and views on this.

I actually did not know that people put polish on their dogs claws, bows and hair colour yes, but not polish! Well this amazes me as I cannot see my dog sitting long enough to have this done! He would think I had lost the plot totally. lol

Yes, your dog would not understand it. But I have seen it a lot, especially on poodles. Thanks for your input.

I never quite understood that one. I guess though that it is becoming more and more popular among dog owners. My daughter used to do it to my dog, when she was younger. I always made her take it off. I don't think the polish we use is safe for animals. I assume the folks that do paint their dogs nails think it is cute and do it because it is the latest trend in "doggie fashion". As for me, I will just leave my dogs as they are...unpolished.

I painted my dog's nails once. And it was because I and my daughters were painting our nails and KC was just laying there all innocent. LOL I got bored...and POOF!!! I decided to paint her nails too!
But I do not see me doing it again. It actually took longer than I thought to wear off and it is really hard to see where to cut the nail when there is polish blocking the view of the vein.

Yeh, it's cute on the Poodles. They get all kinds of treatments of ribbons and bows and polish. I have not seen it on any other breeds, have you?

That's something I've pondered myself..lol I admit I will put a sweater or coat on my dog. I believe he enjoys it. I only put something on him if its cold. He has worn halloween costumes. But why on earth would you want to paint your dos nails? I just don't know. I understand people treat dogss as kids sometimes. But I wouldn't paint my kids nails, unless they asked. I don't know why some people dye their dogs hair either..lol

Dye their dogs hair? Wow, I have never heard of that one. I suppose they are so spoiled and bored, that they will do anything. Thanks for your input dear.

You are joking right?? I have never heard of such a thing. The only reason I can think of right off hand would be if the animal had some type nail deficiency that require you put on a protective, nourishment coat or something like that.
If not for the above reason, I think it is a silly idea and I personally would not want my Dog to be the laughingstock of the neighborhood ;) -- Seriously, I wonder if covering their nails could cause medical concerns for them -- let alone the psychology repercussions could cost you big bucks! Ok sorry I couldn't resist the last remark :)

I painted my dad's dog's nails because I thought it would be funny to have my dad's dog's nails match her collar. But, I don't know why people do it normally?? I guess because they like it??

I can only hazard a guess! People become so close to their animals that the animal takes on the same persona as to be a member of the person's family. They see the animal no differently than a child, a spouce, a siter or brother etc. In this light, I honestly think that they see painting the dog's nails as adding to the animal's personality! Kind of like when I used to visit my grandmother in the nursing home. She was ill with Alzheimers and didn't even realize who I was. However, I would give her a manicure and paint her nails. She had enjoyed this when she was younger and in her right mind, and I knew she would have enjoyed it had she understood! Back to the dogs, I just feel that they are doing something loving for the animal that to them, has taken on human traits in terms of compainionship!
