Dental floss would be better because they're soft and cleans in between teeth. Toothpicks can cause tooth gaps and they can't really clean, do they?

I use toothpick although many dentists asked me to do flossing.Floss is not always available, even if so it's very
difficult in flossing.Floss may look smoother, but the force it generates on the gum after passing the contact between teeth,it literally damages the gums.I have tried various kinds of flosses only to see my gums bleed and sore after flossing

I seldom use toothpick, only when I dont have my floss with me. Most of the time, I use floss. I feel like it is more convenient, easier to use and more effective as well.

i prefer to use floss most of the time because it is easier to manuever inside the mouth. you don't have to exert a lot of effort to reach the far parts of the teeth. with floss, you also don't get to worry that it might be broken into two because it is stronger compared to a toothpick.

I prefer using dental floss but in most of the cases all that I get is a toothpick. It`s not like I have something against it.I just prefer dental floss because it feels more hygienic.Toothpick is usefull at restaurants because they are more portable(sometimes) and they are cheaper.Happy MyLotting!

I use dental floss because it will not have a bad effect on the gums like a toothpick. Toothpicks might break a little and get stuck between teeth and gums, now that will be a problem, wouldn't it?

I'm a degree holder of Dentistry so I'm well knowledgeable in dental hygiene. Dental floss is the proper way not the toothpick. It will harm your teeth and at times, might hurt your gums. There will be some unavoidable incident that toothpick can inflame your gums.

Floss and I know toothpicks push apart your teeth and don't ask me why but my mom is a dental hygienist and that's what she tells me. And no I don't have any detrimental effect on my gums. So by my point of view Dental Floss is better than Toothpicks.

I prefer using he dental floss since it's better and more hygienic. But most of the time I use toothpick since it's the one that's always available.

I have always used a toothpick in the past. I found out many years ago dental floss is MUCH better. A toothpick only removes particles between the teeth and can harm the gums. Dental floss removes gunk on the teeth and does not harm your gums. If you have peridontal disease then dental floss is a must!

I do not use either. if I need something for my teeth, i will use a tooth brush to brush my teeth. i feel very uncomfortable when i see some people using a toothpick or dental floss at table. if some people do this at table, I want to leave right away.

Tooth pics are not very adequate to clean your teeth. Even dental floss should be used with extreme care and not regularly.

I just went to the dentist and got an hour long lecture on how the point of flossing isn't only to get between your teeth, you're supposed to go under the gums too. Apparently gum disease can cause lots of problems--even increase your risk of certain cancers.
A toothpick might help get something out if it's stuck between your teeth. But other than making you look like a hick, it won't help you too much. Save your teeth and floss!!
