Any other DVD fanatics out there?

I am a DVD collecting freak...I just passed the 300 mark recently and can't seem to stop. My wife doesn't understand it at all (she's the kind of person who likes to watch a movie just once). My collection consists mostly of horror (good and bad).

Yes I am a DVD fanatic as well. I have about a hundred already is just 2 years. If I really like a certain movie I make sure I get to watch it on the cinema and then buy a copy later on. As for others, I buy them to keep me entertained at idle moments, or at times when I want to relax and stay in bed or at home. I like collecting DVD's because sometimes I am too fond of repeating the same movie again and again. I am not content watching it for one time only. I plan to make my collection of DVD's as many as possible. I think it is a good investment for a movie lover such as myself.

LOL about your dad's comment!^_^ I am amazed at the amount of movie DVD's you've collected. Bravo!^_^ I'm really not a huge movie fan, but I can see myself collecting comedy series on DVD if I ever get the chance. I really only got a DVD player last year, and mostly I just burn comedy files that I collect online to disc and watch them on my DVD player. It saves me a lot of money. I really can't afford to buy commerical DVD's*laugh*^_^

I am a collector too. I haven't counted them, but they may come around 200. These days I focus on classics, though one or two new movies would find their way to my collection a every few months. Another criterion is the Academy winners and the Cannes winners. Interested in good documentaries too. It would be a nice idea to form a group that is into movies, and think of exchanging our treasures!

You are not alone! I actually just went over and counted how many I have and it's 188! And some of those are television box sets, so they should actually count for a bit more. Lol! And there are so many VHS I have that I have to switch over to dvd, problem is they aren't made on dvd! But don't be embarrassed about your collection. I'm sure whenever someone comes over to your house they are very impressed! And you never run out of something to watch!

I don't think 150 is too many!! I have no idea how many I actually have, but I have 2 big DVD cases full. I sold a bunch on e-bay that I knew I'd never watch again, but DVD's are sort of like books to me, I don't want to get rid of them once I've watched or read them! Our family enjoys watching movies, and for one thing, it's a lot cheaper to buy a DVD and do a family night/movie night at home then to go out to the movies anymore!

Ok! I have 357 in Greek Movies, 244 in foreign movies, 323 in cartoons and kids movies and 120 in documentaries and stuff like that. That means I have 1044 in total up to now.

yes i am DVD fanatic...but i have started to make my collection before some days....so for this you are boss... it's my hobby!! and i love that one!!

i love DVD!!! i mean i can spend the whole day watching DVD (series, movies, etc) and i nver get tired of it. when i am done, i will always have something else ready. i have around 3 gel cases of DVDs at home.

Haha yes! I am definately a fanatic too. I think I'm nearing 200 by now. I got a bunch for Christmas.

This is funny as it is a joke with my family that when they rent movies they come to my house also. I have 187 DVD's and still buying all the time. I just bought 2 of them yesterday. I keep a list of them on my computer and update it whenever I buy new ones. I also log in it if someone is to borrow one, this way if I can not find it I can go to my computer and see where it is. I also collect VHS movies and have 226 of those.

Hey man u r not alone!! I bought a brand new dvd rom for my personal computer last year in feb and since then i have just become so crazy about watching movies on a dvd that i have nearly collected more than 120 of them in just 9 months. i dont buy only the latest releases but i also buy the greatest hits.And i take lots of care of them and do watch them regularly just love the quality of a movie on dvd and i just love to keep on collecting them .Just have a collection of all sorts of them

theres nothing to be pround upon or feel embarrased about....its ur hobby ur passion!so what jss go for it...but don make a mess out of it by indulging in too much...coz too much of everything is bad!

It's nice to hear a movie freak owning more than 150DVD's, I personally download movies and watch till I get fed up and delete it ....

well, i think you are not alone... i am a movie maniac as well even though not as maniac as you... :-) but i do have a huge collection of DVD too but i don't know the exact number because i never count them... have a nice day...

Well i dont own nearly that amount but would love if i could afford to have a collection like that (with two toddlers i find it hard to shell out 25 dollars for a new dvd so i usually wait until they have been out awhile and come down in price). I absolutly love movies as well and i think you cant have too many, congrats on having such a large collection it sounds as if you enjoy them!

Hello :) Well my husband and I are collectors of dvd's movies & music, and cd's. We have about 1,023 New DVD, not counting the Music dvd's that are a few hundreds. My husband is a dvd freak LOL :) We have a list in excell of every movie he has. We collect everything, caartoons, classics, disney, horror, not much drama, action and adventure and of course music. Its pretty interesting but its an expensive hobbie :(, but I guess our baby boy will inherit all of them :)

We've got over a thousand now. We too have been adding and adding and adding for about 6 years. We got our first DVD player as a wedding present and been collecting ever since. My hubby does the collecting mostly. He'll get a movie he likes because it's on sale or something just incase he wants to watch it in the future. Plus that's all he usually gets/wants for Christmas and his birthday. We've got a little bit of everything. Wrestling, horror, comedy, SciFi, ect. We've got a lot of TV shows on collection as well. They're included in that count. We've got family and friends that borrow from us a lot too.

I own about 150 DVDs as well, but collecting them for only about 4 years. We also own about 600 videos now. My family has a thing for movies. Sad thing is, is that we watch those and rent regularly.

Thats nothing for me. I own a DVD shop and I have a collection of across 1,000 DVD's.Just name any and that will be available with me.
