Basketball is a very intersting sport. To me it isn't a very difficult sport. But you never stop learning. There is always more for you to learn. Even if it is how to make a better move on the opponet. But to learn the basics it took me probably a couple of weeks. I started to play in Kindergarten.

Yea i agree with everything you said. Even some players in the pros need work on their fundamental skills.

Well, I started playing when I was eight and it just stuck with me I guess. The younger you start, the easier usually. So what has been difficult for you? The skills of dribbling and shooting or you mean all the rules? Getting a good shot and dribbling can take a very long time to learn; it comes to someone more easily if they are very athletic.

It took me like a few days, I was like 5 when i started playing at the local YMCA. Course not all the rules were in place, but yeah it should only take a few days if you have a good coach teaching you. The thing about your height may have lengthened it because usaully your a bit like lanky on the court as a bigger person who just grew.

Yes it really takes time. I think it took me 3 weeks to learn the game and took maybe a 6 months to understand how the game must be played. But playing consistently can make a player play as its best.

To learn the game of basketball has taken me a lifetime, though I do know the basics. I am 21 years old and can only dribble ands shoot. I don't find the game very interesting anyways.

i started when i was young learning the fundamentals and the basics of the game. it took me years to completely understand the game. to this day, ive been playing for 18 years, i still see things ive never seen before or calls that i still dont understand.

it did not take me long at all to understand the game, but I was playing since i was 3 and when i pleyed for school it helped that i played a lot before. so to understand basketball properly took a few weeks.

Great topic! I've picked up basketball at the age of 14 under the influence of my elder brother. Have been playing for 6yrs. But i never felt good enough to represent for any competition. For the rules and regulations, its pretty easy, if there someone to guide you, a day is enough. But the shooting requires a little talent, that goes the same for passing, and dribbling. wah~ suddenly feel like playing basketball!!
