I've had bad experiences with CDs (backups that get corrupted over the years), so I invested in USB hard drive (250gb). So now I have my files backed up and I can take the drive with me wherever I go.

I got a DVD-RW unit and I use only DVDs because I can put 4.7GB of data on it. A DVD is double the price of a CD but you have 3.3GB extra and that's incredibil.

i use CDs more than dvd. it is because i dont have DVD drive in my system. i think the DVD will replace CD very soon its because of its cheap cost and more storage capacity

DVD. Mainly because of its much larger capacity. So I'll only need a few discs to back up files from my PC. And I save storage space in my shelf.

What do I use more? . Time change. Most of the people backup their files or data on DVD. There are not much people using CDs anymore. a CD is only have 700mb while DVD have 4.3Gig. It is obvious people will use DVD instead. CD is consider obsolete now and that is why it has become cheap. I use DVD to backup all my anime and movies. If the DVD technology does not exist I need alot of CD just to backup one anime. Nowaday all the new computer is come with DVD writer compare to last 3 years you can actually choose to have CD writer or DVD writer. of cause if you choose to have DVD writer it is much more expensive but it is well worth it.

Cd is more than enough for me. DVD's are of no use for me as some computers still do not have a DVD writer and when i take it to some other place i would be stuck if i do not find a DVD writer while CD's can be easily read on any CD ROM drive. but i feel that CD/DVD's are going to vanish and replaced by USB key drives and memory cards having much higher capacity but problems are many like we cannot keep buying a memory card due to it's cost and how can we manage to buy a thumb drive for each new large file that we download? so i guess unless the company brings out a terrabyte solution in the future we would be using CD/DVD as a media for storing files. in the future DVD's like HD DVD's are going to be the most common media for storing files and companies are still working on it to create a large capacity HD DVD

I use more dvd, why? The price is almost the same with cd also the capacity is much bigger. For movies, it has better quality too.

my requirements have increased. I am using mostly DVD's now. Although i still use CD's but rarely. DVDs have larger capacity and a better medium to play movies and games. So DVDs :)

Well, in terms of Audios I use CD's because it is can be played on almost all CD Players. But when it comes to videos, I use DVD's since the storage capacity is much larger compared to CD's. When backing-up my files, I also use DVD's for the reason that I could burn more files to DVD's unlike CD's.

I use DVDs all the time because of its large storage capacity. More or less about 7-8 CDs can fit a single DVD. The price of the CD and DVD is the same so the DVD is practically the better option.
