I got this mail around 100 times.I guess it is a scam.I have 4 yahoo accounts.I get that mail in all my 4 accounts.I gave the paypal ID and they are asking me to register in yahoo games for 8.45$.I thought they may deduct $8.45 from my paypal and never give me $500.But I am sure it might be scam.

Don't give them any information, especially your Paypal ID. And don't follow any links in the e-mail. If you want to check it out, contact Yahoo directly through their site, but not through the link in the e-mail. Try to find a phone number where you can contact Yahoo directly. This sounds like a scam.
You don't usually get a plain e-mail notifying you of a $500 winning, especially from something that you didn't even enter. Be careful.

Smart move. I doubt that Yahoo would give away "random prizes". Things just don't work that easily, I'm afraid. I would just delete it and move on. That way you stay out of any trouble or hassles that may result.

I guess that this could one of those scams going on in the internet world, just like nigerian scam, transfering funds to your bank account scam, etc. Please be beware of these type of scams around and don't give any personal information of yours to them. Just tell them that your current email id of yours that they have sent the email is your paypal id and ask them to send the money that mail id itself and if they really send it, accept the money, you don't lose anything with this, since they already knew your email id.

I have received several emails of the same nature telling me that i won this and that. I did,nt reply to any of those emails for i know that they are scams. If you have never participated in any activities that might result in winning such amount you might think first in giving your personal details especially your credit card number and paypal account number.

Well be carefull mate, seems like is a big scam. about the sender from Yahoo. it's not a big problem to create that with some program. to manipulate the sender. i have the same experience like you too. winning about 4000$. If you really ever joining in some yahoo event that offering that kind of prize. well maybe that is really your money. but if it says about randomize. Trully it just a spam mail.

I can definetly say to you that this is a spam and nothing more so don't even care to respond to that email because they will ask you for some money and if they will not get then at least they will know that your email ID is active and then they will sell your ID to other parties from where you will receive more spam emails.

What's the purpose of the winning..??Did you participated in any events organised my Yahoo group..I think they must have given the details of the event for which you may be the chosen one..read the e-mail very carefully..
And if you didn't participated in any such events like that..then I am afraid, it can be another scam..

This is a scam.
I've replied back to the address in the email and have had my emails bounce back to me. Doesn't like the host.
Which definately means scam.
They want your personal information.
Don't do it.

May be it is scam , but no harm in trying. Make a new paypal id for this . paypal is free. and give that id to yahoo.

But if your gonna apply for a paypal account you need atleast a credit card or a checking account to verify it.So i think its still a risk.I'll ignore this one. Thanks for replying.
