For every discussion that you start do you rate every response and comments that you get? do you choose the best response out of the whole lot? do you rate responses and comments in other people's discussions where you post? if you dont do all this, then please start doing it. if you start rating people, others will rate you too. i dont know, it may affect your earnings or your rating on the "star", i dont know about that, but please try to do all this. good for the site on the whole!
anyone else has more information on this??

I know this is a bad habit but I hardly take any time to rate people and chose the best response for my discussions but from now onwards I have planned to do the same.

I do rate all responses. Not by the fact that I got responses that tender my ears, but the fact that have answered and were polite and truthful with their opinion. I choose my best responses out of all, by the time that I think it is almost the time to award the ones that really deserve it.

i rate only the good posts or some of those uselesss posts, and choose best response only if i feel there is some worthwhile decision i have received to one of my discussions. sometimes say i recieve three responses and none seems interesting i wont rate any of these as best response, but have observed for most other users here that they dont consider how worth it the response is before giving it best response, they seem to be doing it just out of compulsion maybe to increse their income, but i just cant do that.

Yes, I do rate every post. I rate all responses I get to my discussions & also rate the discussions that I respond to. I rate all responses positively. Even when the responses do not agree with my opinion, I rate them positively. But very rarely this happens that some people give very bad response or meaningless response, then I rate them negatively. Oh yes, I always forgot to choose best response. But from now I have decided to always choose best response.

rating a response can be done then n there.. just like i rated you after reading your post, picking the best discussion should always be done in the last when you feel that the discussion is becoming less active or when you feel all sorts of answers have come in. then you should pick the best out of the lot! thanks for your response!

well i rate every response in my discussion and also to the good discussions that i respond too. i agree that peoples effort are encouraged through ratings!.
i also reply to the responses in my discussions but not to all. i try to respond to all but sometimes i cant.. so i just rate all depending on the response because some of the responses dont really answer or arent really connected with the discussion so i just leave them alone. i never give negative ratings because i dont want to discourage people..

that is very good that you rate people's discussions. it is not possible to reply to eah response in your discussions.. especially in cases where people reply in a line or so.. or give irrelavent answers. as far as negative rating is concerned, dont avoid it completely, some people respond to discussions just for the sake of it, if you rate them negative, you are helping the site to pick out people who post irrelavant stuff. so go ahead.. hit that "-" button when you feel the need! thanks for your response. keep posting!

I do rate responses and comments in other people's discussions. It should be a habit since we are helping others to continue their positive performance in coming up with quality responses and topics. I do rate negatively if I see that the person is giving one liner ideas just for the sake of posting. But as much as possible, I give positive ratings especially to those who promote positive thoughts in life and in general. I also mark a best response if I feel that the person deserves it. Why not acknowledge the person's standout ideas? Let us be appreciative.

Yes, although I haven't yet rated one for best response.
Rating posts is discretionary. You don't have to rate things. I rate irrelevant responses as negatives, but generally most of mine have been postives, by far.
Rating does affect reputation, but it's cumulative.

i try to rate everyone but some response are just crap so i just leave them out for i don't want to give any negative rating to some one.yes our rating does help people to increase their earning and rank so if we start rating others they will rate our discussions in this way we will be standing fo r each other for you need two to succeed whether it be my lot or life..........
