What do you call the Time of the Month

When talking about your periods, do you have a special name for that "Time of the Month" do you just say "period" or "menstrual cycle" or do you say "womens things"
Are we still so shy about the most natural thing a woman contends with every month that we have little names for it.

I usually just refer to it as my period. When my cramps are extremely painful, I get this pained look on my face and if my hubby asks me what's wrong, I usually say,"Damn Mother Naure!", then he leaves me alone about it. lol

Yes I tend to blame Mother Nature and suggest that the Worlds Economics would grind to a halt if men suffered :D

hahaha...I would say "mother nature" is here or "it's that time" or "aunt flow" lol...
I've never been shy or embarrassed about it. It's natural and it happens...
Aunt Flow is my favorite though :)

I usually just say my period or I might say "the monthly thing" if I'm around men. Not that I care but it seems they do. They get grossed out or make faces at it. I have heard of "Aunt Flo is visiting" as a way to describe it. Being "OTR", on the rag, although I never really cared for that one.

To my close friends I tell them that I had a "miscarriage." But to others I just say, dysmenorrhea or stomach cramps. I don't know why it's somewhat embarrassing but I realy don't feel comfortable when I feel sick and my male friends ask what's the matter. I just can't say, I have menstrual period. But somehow I can jokingly say, I had a miscarriage!"

Strange isn't it, how shy we are about our periods and talking about them especially to guys. I think the older you get the more liberal you feel. I used to hate going into the chemist and buying sanitary pads or tampons, especially if there was a guy behind me.
Now I think I am a lot bolder.

Same here, normally its period or "Time of the Month" or I just growl that tends to let people know I am really not good company.

Sometimes I call it "Women's Stuff". Mainly because when I told my hunny "Aunt Flow" he didn't know what I was talking about.

We have a sanitary napkin w/ the brand name "Those Days", since then we call our monthly period with that term. We also use "Red Days". I don't think we need to be ashamed of such thing since every woman is the world is experiencing it right?

I do say "period". When my male colleagues used to ask me I was saying that I was not feeling well.
