What do you consider annoying?

My husband really bugs me sometimes. We all get annoyed at the little quirks of our spouses or partners. The little things that annoy him are odd. He will hit the num lock key to shut it off. He doesn't like to see the little light on the keyboard lit. The same is so with the computer screen. He shuts if off whenever I step away from the pc. On several occasions I will be preparing to bake something. I put the staples out on the counter and if I walk away to say answer the phone or go to the pantry for something else I return to find the items completely put away. I have to laugh at these behaviors. If I don't laugh I will surely go off the deep end.

People who want to cause you trouble and harm when you haven't done a thing to them are what drive me crazy. Sigh. You know what, I really shouldn't be so upset about this, but now I am losing my star rating here on Mylot (it's gone down three points in two days) when I've still been posting a lot and being the same old me that I always have. Maybe I should stop posting new topics and just go back to replying in discussions, because it seems like me getting noticed around the site has gotten someone upset with me. And if so, i wish that they would come out and tell me about it, instead of just going behind my back and rating me with minuses when i don't even know what I did wrong or could have done wrong, considering that I had a ten rating for every single day up until yesterday from almost the minute that the ratings came out. I just feel sick right now, because I love people and I try to always be friendly. :(

shywolf, Don't let this get to you too much. It's been happening to a lot of us over the past few days. Like you, I had a 10 rating from the day they came out, then I had a few days of 9 and 8 ratings. Now it's back up again, but for how long? Keep doing what you're doing, because you post interesting topics and great comments. Don't let the few losers that are trolling around this place discourage you. You might feel better responding to just your friends' discussions for a few days; at least with them you know that you will be rated fairly. Hang in there!

I guess somethings are habit and he may not be realising that it's annoying you. An old flat mate of mine used to switch off the microwave from the plug and it used to mean putting the hand behind the microwave to switch it on and I never understood why somebody would do that and it used to annoy me. Now I end up doing the same thing because it was for energy conservation reasons. Maybe you need to speak to him and understand his reasons for it.

I think I would be very annoyed if someone just put up the things that I just took out because I was about to bake! LOL I hate listening to people eat! The sounds they make can be soooo annoying!! Or when my dogs are settling down and for some they are licking their chops and smacking their tongues in their mouths...hate it! And what is so hard about rinsing out the bath when one is done? I wash the bath every time I am in the shower. And if my partner takes a bath later, he does not even have the common courtesy to rinse the tub! Or how about how he can tone everything out when he is on the computer, playing a video game, or watching TV? Umm...don't you hear that? I have already addressed it several times here! I could use some reinforcement! OK, I best stop there or I could make this a chapter to a book! ha ha Tia ranting about partner's annoying habits. Partner mad because she reveals all. ha ha Not good!

Tia, loved your responses. I too have a thing about hearing people eat. I was raised to chew with your mouth closed. When I am in the presense of someone who is eating like a pig, it is all I can do not to say something.

I get really annoyed when my boyfriend knows that I am going out somewhere and shows up and parks his car in the driveway in front of mine. Then he gets all upset when I ask him to move it. Most of the time I end up having to move it, pull my car out,and then put his back. He knows my schedule better than I do, so I don't know why it's such a big problem for him to park on the street. If he doesn't go back out, I would be glad to put his car in the driveway when I got back home.

It sounds like either way you do it you are going to end up moving 2 cars. Geez...I just looked down and found my num lock turned off again. I wasn't gone for more than an hour and he even left the housed to apply for a job. Grrrrrrrr. LOL.

My husband has a annoying quirk that has bugged me for 37 years now. He will explain how to do some simple task as if I never did it before. Yesterday he told me how to use the coffee maker. He will lecture me if I use a tool and if it is sharp at all he will hesitate to let me use it.(I have never hurt myself on a tool). Makes me feel childish!!

LOL. I am constantly going behind my husband and picking things up that he leaves out. If I don't, they will lay there till this time next year. What gets on my nerves the most is that he never puts things back where they go and then later when he needs something again, he will come and ask me where it is or ask me if I have seen it. I say, well if you would putthings back where it goes, you would know where it is. Most of the time it is right where it should have been out back to begin with. Say like a toothbrush, LOL, needs to be in the bathroom in the "toothbrush" holder. The say that a man loves his garage and will keep it straight, Wrong! I even go out to the garage and put tools back where they go and the very next day they are all strung out again. LOL.

And I thought I had enough of these idiosyncrasies myself. I guess your husband has gone one better than me lol. But I like the way you are dealing with such things. Laughing them off is a good solution. I'm glad that they don't seem to bother you.

My husband picks the threads on seams when he is stressed. His pants cuffs, shirt pocket, pants pocket, hankies, the couch cover. It drives me mad, not to say expensive to keep replacing.

i get annoyed with my boyfriend because when he takes off his boots after work he doesn't put them away he lives them in the living room and he also has to have a glass of water when he goes to bed, but instead of using the same cup each night he gets a new one and at the end of the week there is 7 dirty cups on his night stand. I hate that.

Well that does make your life a little more interesting doesn't it? LOL. Gotta love him for that though, maybe he is trying to save on the electric bill? What annoys me most is to be followed everywhere I go in the house by my hubby ... he's always trying to talk to me and I am always trying to get things done while he's talking or I would never get anything done ... he's never quiet unless he's sleeping. If I make any comment at all while he's talking he says 'HUH?', and that really annoys me. He's a bigger chatter box than any woman I know LOL.

I hate to be followed into the bathroom. The bathroom is one place where I need to be alone.

i am annoyed by people who think that they are the best, there is a thin line between being confident and conceited. its ok to be confident buit not to the point of boasting and snatching credits of others. im so annoyed with those who always brag about their achievements even when you dont ask them. i am appreciative of others but it really pisses me off when someone is so arrogant, its indeed a turn off for me. i think humility is a great virtue. and when you are humble, people will admire you more.

I find it really annoying when I am having a bad day and my husband knows I am and this is the day he decides it will be funny to nit pick everything I do therefore making me more irritated . Another thing that is annoying is when the phone rings someone in the house will go see who is callng and if it is not for them they walk away from the phone without saying who it is or telling you it was for you .

I hate it when my boyfriend does not respect what I do. For example, I'll spend all day cleaning the house, just to have him come home and throw his clothes all over the place. Also, I'll do a load of dishes, and he'll put ONE CUP in the sink. I can understand him not wanting to do a sink full of dishes, but if he sees that they are already done, he should just wash that one cup.

Well, it sounds like your husband gets annoyed from those little things that you do too. I think that is annoying on your part as you see it to be so.

I look at it this way, if our husbands didn't have funny little quirks, than we would not love them as much. We even have annoying things we do that drives them insane too! My hubby wears two pairs of socks and never seperates them! Totally weird and annoying - but that makes him, him!

I am the messy one and he is the neat FREAK! I hate it. I can find everything , until he moves it and puts it somewhere that doesn't even make sense!
