I don't know what their name was but they were in Germany,
they were old and kind of scary then I went to the
Monte Christo prison that looked kind of like an castle.

Hi, There are a huge amount of castle's where I live in the South West of England, some have restored, some are just ruins and there are a couple that are not even there anymore but the area is still called after the castle. If you visit Devon, then there's a lovely old ruin of a castle in the centre of Exeter (You can even have a tour of it's underground passages too), Then there's Powderham Castle, which is a fully restored castle and still a family home! Dunchideok castle is the smallest castle you have ever seen and is more like a turrett! My last recommendation would be going to see the ruins at Berry Pomeroy, reputedly haunted and was recently featured on the British tv show Most Haunted! Hope you have a great vacation!

I went to Ireland many years ago and went to the top of castle blarney. Only to chicken out on kissing the blarney stone because of a fear of heights.

Ireland is the main place i wnt to go, and i have gotten several books about their castles, there was this one i really really wanted to go to, but now i forget what it was called! it was absolutly gorgous. it sat on a lake and was surrounded by pines and there was a mountain behind it.
so kissing the blarney stone, is it for luck, superstition, or just for fun? does it have meaning?

Kissing the blarney stone is for the gift of gab. Ireland is wonderful. I'd love to go back one day.

Japan is another country that has a lot of castles. I've been to the Nagoya Castle in Nagoya, Japan and it is absolutely gorgeous.

My favorite castles are the chateaus of the Loire Valley in France. You can go on a tour of several, but my favorites are Chenonceau and Chambord. Search for them online to see some pictures.
