Home made is the only way at our house.
Here is the recipe that we love.
2 pounds hamburger
1 can tomato soup
1/4 c water
2 tsp dried oregano
2 tsp worchestire sauce
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp hot pepper sauce
1/4 c ketchup
1 tsp chili powder.
hamburger buns
Cook the hamburger rinse and drain the grease.
Add rest of ingredients and simmer 10 - 15 minutes.
serve on buns
Even my 2 year old loves these.
Enjoy
You could brown the hamburger and throw it all in the crockpot too.

This is definitely one that is simple enough to be home made and much healthier.
We frequently make them with Turkey..and then they are Slopy Toms.
They are a fun food, almost as popular as pizza. Go great with some carrot and celery sticks.
In fact, with little ones who don't eat veggies..throw some carrots and celery in the food processor, grind them real fine and throw that in your sloppy joe mix.
Yes, I was a evil, sneaky mom.

My family usually justs fries up the burger and adds the can to make sloppy joes. But when I was going up my grandma made a mean homemade recipe with onions, ketchup, and mustard.

I say fun favorite. When I make them I just brown the burger and add chili sauce that comes in a jar. I get lots of compliments and everyone thinks that I made them from scratch.

That sounds so yummy! It seems so funny that we add sugar to meat doesn't it? But gosh it sure is tasty!
