What do you define as lucky?

I used to think I was unlucky as I have never won anything or didn't have very priviledged upbringing. I now know I am lucky as I have lots of things other people don't have and a lovely daughter and good health, the list is endless. Just made me think what do other people think 'lucky' means?

hi bizziebod.
i can relate you on this one.
i used to be a gambler and of course luck comes into play quite alot in this. you had good days where you think you were lucky and bad days when you thought luck did not exist, but looking back gambling had no relevance with luck at all.
i have learned my lesson with all this and realise materialistic things such as money and gadgets etc... mean nothing compared to your family, love, health and happiness.
don't get me wrong, it is nice to have a bit of money now and then but it is not the end of the world if i have no money to spend at the end of the month. being lucky is having a happy life with loved ones around you.

You right having no money at the end of the month doesn't mean you're not lucky - I often feel there's a reason why you have no money, and because 'other' forces are at play, but I will save that for another discussion. I guess we could all count ourselves as lucky just for being alive? Silly really as it was only when I decided to write down why I was lucky (A New Year's Ritual) that I realised I could have carried on writing for days!

I always think that I am extremely unlucky. The worst thing that can happen has to happen to me.This is something related to circumstances. For example I carry my calculator to college everyday, and none of theh lecturers actually check if all the students have got their calculators or not.But one fine day I don't get my calculator and that they the lecturers decide to check and I am thrown out of the class!Again during exams too, when I leave a particular topic there is always a question on that particular topic and its vice versa for my friends!I am really tired of such things. But again when it comes to having friends I feel I have got the best set of friends everywhere, from school to college. The best natured people have been my friends always! So these are the times when I think I am not that unlucky afterall.

That's more or less the way I think, Bizziebod.
The foundation of life is health, love, loyal friends and family, caring and sharing the few things we do have, with those who don't. Money and grand possessions don't come into it, as nine times out of ten they create an unhappy being. The riches of nature and love are all we need in this world. Just look around you at the beautiful gift we've been given... life in a wonderful natural environment, with changing seasons, and all the riches of life itself at hand.
Brightest Blessings.. and thank you for a very interesting discussion.

I try to think of it like this, there is always someone worse off in life so no matter how bad things seem, there is always someone going through something worse.
As far as lucky things, I can't say that I am completely happy with life or the way things have turned out but I try to make the most of every day, stay young at heart and appreciate the things and friends that I have.

Thats a great attitude to have! You are absolutely right, there is always someone worse off in life, although sometimes when you hit rock bottom, it doesn't feel like it though! Thanks for your thoughts!

I actually don't know, I'm not lucky in gambling and I'm not also lucky in work. But I'm lucky with my family they give all there support to help me out and my parents help me finished my studies. I am lucky in my own life.

I don't believe in luck we create what we think and feel which is great news. Ask and you shall receive. Ask,Beleive,Receive. It does work try and let me know.
