Amelia is another name I just love. Alot of the older names from our grandparents generation were so elegant and beautiful but I hardly hear people naming their children those names. I would have named a daughter Amelia, very pretty!

Lillian Iris - Mom's mom; Doris - Dad's mom
Wolfgang - Mom's mom; James - Dad's dad
I really love the name Olive! I also really love the name Lillian... not that I plan on having any children, but if I were to ever have a girl, I'd name her Lillian after my grandmother and call her Lily for short.

Thank you! I love hearing unique names. I'm sorry you didn't get to meet your paternal grandparents - I wish I had met mine.

Oohh very simple but pretty names. I like Jane and Elma. I've never heard the name Stig, very different.

I love the names Lillian and Helen. My sweet dogs name is Lilly because I was going to name my daughter that (if I ever had one) but I can no longer have children so she gets the honor.
Great strong names on both sides! Thanks for sharing!

I only remember one side of my grandparents first names (the other ones passed away when I was 5 and I'm more forgetful in my old age).
Leo and Elizabeth, but everyone called her Lizzy.
May they both rest in peace. :-)
