YES! I mean, seriously.. your body regenerates 90-some percent of it's cells every year, and those new cells are made from the foods we consume. We very literally ARE what we EAT... It' so funny, my father raises cows for consumption, and it's always a little strange when I eat at his home because they have no idea what to make for vegetarians, so anyway... about a year ago I was over for a visit and his wife was talking about how they name all their cows, and that the one they were having for dinner that night was called "Dopey" because he was a little strange. I said, "You know what they say... you are what you eat!" Everybody got a good laugh out of it. But seriously, I am happy to think when I'm eating organic fruit and vegetables, olive oil, avocado, brown rice... this is what I'll be made of. I have peace of mind about my health, because I only put clean fuel in my body, so I don't really worry about 'clogging up the engine' so to speak. Great topic, by the way!

I think that if you are eating healthy, yes, it could drastically alter a sluggish personality, and it could encourage that sluggish person to exercise and get out more.

well, we are a sum of all the parts that we ingest so we are what we eat. High sugar diets are shown to affect health, as are diets high in trans fats etc. I believe that followers of compassionate principles in their diets are bound to feel better about themselves and their bodies so I am in agreement with you.

I don't think what you eat defines your personality...but being healthy does. A healthy person has more possibilities of being calm and fine and reasonable that someone with a bad health, with disorders. From that point of view i agree. But i don't think that just for the fact of being vegetarian or for eating pizza your personality is going to be altered necessarily.

I couldn't agree with you more. We eat to have energy and be able to function. Our body needs nutrition. Problem with today society is fast food and lock of nutrition in diet.
It is proven that Vegans live longer, but when you start discussion about it, people feel like they have to fight with you. They are so much in love with pork, beef and turkey, forgotten what meat came from.

No. I don't understand why you would think that. How does eating a hot dog change your personality? I just don't buy that. Of course it effects your body, but your personality changes due to food? I don't think so.

Yes I definately do believe that. If you pump too many additives, colourings, and chemicals into your system, it is bound to have some detrimental effect on your personality. I am conviniced that too much junk food, and rubbish causes this spate of ADHD in children that was pretty much unheard of 20 years ago.

I believe in this that what you eat definitely defines your personality, it cannot effect your will power to be waht you are though. Yes people who consume certain types of foods are less agressive than the others. Like people who drink or smoke though not excessively have different thinking patterns than people who dnt drink or smoke. Our eating habits effect our personality though the process is very slow and is not very apparent like drinking or smoking.

I believe you are what you eat on a cellular level because your body uses the food you eat to build cells and create fuel. If you eat crap then your body doesn't have the highest quality fuel or tools to build it's cells with. This can alter your personality because you will have less energy, could gain weight or in some case have recurring health problems like heart disease or digestive problems.
For instance a hot dog which is pretty much the left over bits of the animal after the good cuts are taken out will not give your body the kind of nutrients and materials that you could get out of a lean turkey cutlet or a bowl of lima beans.
