Okay...how many of you really respond to all the posts your friends put up? I've been trying to do so....but sometimes the subject just doesn't interest me or it's on something I don't know nothing about.I believe in making what are quality posts and responses (to me anyways)....but I've noticed that a lot of people just respond simply because a person is on their friends list.I don't mean to be rude to anyone by not responding...I just don't want to waist anybodys time either.Would love to see everybodys views on that!!

i try to respond to all my friends discussions but only if i feel i have something to contribute. i try not to give one-line answers but im still new and im not sure if my responses r right. anyway ill get the hang of it. when i open discussions i always open my friends first to see if i can contribute anything to them and i always make sure to rate them

I don't think it has anything to do with if your responses are right or not.If you feel you have something to contribute....do so!On a lot of the posts here there is no right or wrong answer.I rate every one of the responses as positive....no matter if they are different from what I think. After all I asked for everybodys opinion.

You seem to have a good grasp on how to maximize your earnings here on mylot. I, too, also try to refrain from one-line responses ;-)

I couldn't agree more. I don't want to pop up and say something that isn't relative to the discussion, if the subject doesn't pertain to me or I have no idea what they are even talking about. I want to give quality answers and answer things that I feel that I can contribute to the discussion. So with that said if you write something that I don't stop by and reply too, it isn't because I'm ignoring you I just don't have anything to contribute to the subject. :)

Thank's for the response....it's nice when people from your friends list have something to say about your posts...but it's never expected.

I do respond to friends discussions first, but only is discussion make sense. I end up deleting friends, because I didn't want to be part of stupid discussions they start. Most of them never respond to my either.

I don't have that many people on my friends list....but I know that some have over 100....there is just no way I would be able to manage that many.....I just don't have the time to be on the computer for that long.

This is a very good discussion that you have started as we are only supposed to reply to those that we can give a good quality answer to, therefore to do that I can only reply to those topics that I know something about. It only makes sense to reply to those that are of interest to you as you will be able to give a better answer. When I first started I tried to respond to everyones discussions but I just could not. Now if it does not concern me or I know that I just don't know anything about the topic I will go right on by.

I am a member at several different sites that I check regularly every day, but I don't have time to respond to ever forum or post that my friends on each site place. I still have nursing school and kids to deal with too so time is limited as to how much time I can spend on each site. I pick the best subjects and respond then move on.

Well I do try to respond to all my friends' discussions. However, being a non-American I do have a problem sometimes with the ones that are posted by my American friends, because if they are talking about TV programmes or stuff like NFL I truly haven't got a clue. Then I obviously don't respond because "I haven't got a clue" seems like a daft response - LOL!, - but otherwise I do try!!

Some people will write something like "I don't know" or "I don't have a clue".....it does seem a little silly to write something like that.

I'm with you- First off I choose friends by there interests-- If someone answers the same type of discussions I answer then I feel we have the same type of interests. I always go to see what discussions my friends started first- I try to answer as many that interest me and that I have some information on. If I know nothing about the issue or if it doesn't interest me- I pass it by. But most of the time I can answer at least one of their discussions each day.

I think it's really impossible to respond to ALL of your friend's discussions, especially if you have a large friend list. I go through all of my friends' discussions each day and respond to all those that I can relate to (and that I have time to do). If I don't respond to a friend one day, it's very likely that I will the following day. I just do my best. As for my friends responding to my topics, I think think they do a great job. I don't expect them to respond to all of them, so I'm thrilled when I see them post :)

I know...I feel the same way about my friends....it's always nice to hear from them and get their thoughts on a subject...but I'm not upset if they don't have anything to say.

When I sign in to mylot I always check my friends discussions first, but I only reply to those discussions that interest me. Like you, I try to only post quality posts so I don't reply to anything that doesn't interest me or where I feel that I am unable to give a quality response. On the whole, I think I probably respond to the majority of my friends posts as I only request people who I have things in common with as friends, but I know I don't reply to them all. I wouldn't worry about appearing rude by not replying to all of your friends posts, the fact that you are even concerned about it shows that you are conscientious and are likely to reply whenever you feel you can. Don't worry about it and and try not to lose sight of the most important aspect of mylot - to have fun!

I try to reply to my friend's posts, but the people on my friends list post discussions frequently, so I find it a little hard to keep up. Plus, I don't reply to discussions that don't interest me, as I don't see the point if I don't have anything of value to contribute.

I cannot respond to all of them. I have a couple friends that sometimes do over 20 a day. And most of those I know nothing about since they are not from the U.S. The other friends are pretty moderate on the amount they do. So I do what I can. I respond to the ones that interest me and that I know something about. It seems to be working so far.

That's pretty much what I do...everytime I log in I got to my friends list and see what they have going on....if I have something to say about one of their topics....I respond and definately give them a positive rating.

it's not easy to response to all discussions which your friends had started. but atleast, it's better to have a specific number of friends per day to go through their discussions.

I just can't agree with that firoafame....I try to respond if I can....if a friend can't understand that sometimes I may not....than maybe they are not a friend to begin with.Having friends may increase your chances to get more responses...but that should not be the reason for having friends.A friend to me is someone that will enrich my life in may different ways.....but I don't consider making money to be one of them.

Hi winky73, I give the most time to my friends posts and usually after I have gone through my posts and stuff theirs are the first I look through. I go through each friend individually and try to pick their best discussion to answer, if there is a couple that interest me then I'll answer both, if none then I won't bother answering any. I feel it's pointless responding to a discussion if you have no knowledge of the question in the first place!

I am like you. I regularly check to see what my friends have put up but I only respond if the subject is relevant to me. I don't just put a rubbish answer because they are my friend. I have read that you get paid if you get 2 answers to your question but if you get lots more the payment doesn't increase, so it doesn't really make sense to answer just because they are a friend.

I'm still not sure how exactly the payment works....but even if we got paid more....I stiil don't like waisting time with senseless typing.

I can't respond to all of the discussions just because they are on my friends list. I do try to do as much as I can as long as it is something that I can relate to or I have an answer for.

Does not mean that just coz the person is on my friends list I am supposed to answer all the posts started by them as I would not like them to do the same wth my posts. I would surely reply if it interests me and think that I can really answer it properly.

I check my friend's discussions daily and respond to them if i have an opinion or interest. Sometimes none of my friends get a response from me because I have no interest in their topic. I agree that I don't want to waste time either!

That depends if you have a rating group going or not. Rating groups work! The downside is that responses may not be as good as somone interested in the subject. Of course the money makes it worthwhile.
