Wow, as of today, January 31, 2007, I have 267 Friends.

Yesterday I decided to go to each one of my friends accounts and respond to at least one of their discussions. It took me a while to get through the first 4 pages. I have a total of 18 pages. It is a slow process. How do all of these wonderful discussions slip by? I always click on "discussions my friends started" as my main source for discussions I respond to.
I did stop the email thing, because I was being bombarded with email and it took a long time to go through them.
I wish you all well with your discussions. Please if you have one that is really important to you and you would like me to read it, send it to me via MyLot messages.

You have been a busy little camper, havent you? Are you feeling up to par today? I find it is getting harder and harder to keep up with my friends. Some of them post 10 or more discussions a day. I may have to only comment on a couple of hers in the future as I have other friends to keep up with to. I am still receiving email notifications but may have to stop that soon. Like you my email is filling up faster than I can check them out.

I feel bad when one of my friends have posted a discussion and I haven't come across it to respond. Hopefully many will utilize the MyLot messages to inform me.
I am feeling much better, although I had little sleep due to a bout of insomnia!

I can't see how you do it without email, LOL. I tried the way of using Friends Discussions, and was losing posts left and right. Now with the email, I turn those that post many posts in a day off, and go to their profile once a day and answer their posts from there.
Anyway, what a wonderful suggestion about messaging you with important posts.
You’re a good friend ;-)

I don't have near as many friends as you but I see whaere you are coming from. I also go to my firends list and try to answer at least one discussin from them, but I don't try to do it every day. I mean I try to respond to at lease one discussion from each friend every week. I always look for discussion with no repsonses first so I can help my firends earn.
I don't have the email notify on either becuase it is just too much email. Well that is not totally true. I do have the notify on for my referrals. I know that may sound unfair but I figure since I referred them and I earn when they earn I want to be able to respond to all of thier discussions.
there is just no way to hit all the discussions so I just do my best to help my friends out and respond to their dicussions. I have noticed that it is mostly one sided though. I have a very small few of my friends who respond to my discussions. But it is all good.
I think I maybe should be more proactive in the friends thing because I have only requested one friend. All the rest requested me. It is a catch 22 though, if I have more friends I might get more responses to my discussions but hten I would have a harder time responding to theirs.

Well congratualtions .. and woohhooo I am one of the lucky ones .. thank you!
I have found the best way to try and keep up is to have the notification of new posts turned on for everybody .. that way I get to see all the new posts as and when they happen .. I can't answer every single post .. some are about things I know nothing about .. but I do try to make the effort to reply to the majority of posts everyday ..
Sometimes and I don't know why ... I don't always get the email notifications so I miss out on those discussions .. but generally I find that if I stick with the discussions from my friends they are more interesting and easier to answer .. and of course that's because we have selected out friends with this in mind .. I always check out someones profile first .. and if I like what I see, especially what discussions they've already started, I make them a friend

That's great on all your friends! I have my notify set to on for all my friends. When they start a new discussion, it goes to my email inbox. I'm able to see every new discussion started by my friends. I don't respond to all of them but try to sort through and respond to as many as I have time for. I think you do a very nice job of responding to my discussions and I appreciate it. I enjoy reading your viewpoint on things because I know it'll be something interesting. :)

I too have my hands full of the discussions my friends start. Thank goodness thus far I have managed to get to them timely. Am noticing the posting patterns of some of my friends and that helps. Thank you for stopping by, appreciate it very much. Will keep you in mind if I have something that might interest you. Am up to 119 friends and am grateful for you all!

I wonder if it is quicker to go through the list of friends rather than the emails. I still use the email system, because it means I can respond to the earliest topic first. I am so slow, that the topics would be gone out of date by the time I go through my list of friends, and I think a lot of them don't post topics anymore. I don't even know if they are still members of MyLot. Must check it out someday.

I have found a few that are not active and deleted them. There are some that I am considering because their topics of discussion are not what I would consider material that I would respond to.

Butterfly, Are you saying that you turn the "off" feature on "off" for all of your friends, and then just periodically go in and respond to some of their questions? If that is so, it is a very interesting way to do it and one I would have never thought of. I don't have nearly as many friends to manage as you; but again, it is quite interesting. I hope you reply to this via email, as I do have you turned "on" ~Donna

Yes it is very time consuming ,but the good thing is "my friends " have good topics that I like to respond too so for me it might save me some time in the long run as I don't have to read pages and pages of topics that I don't care to respond too... :)

Congrats ElusiveButterfly. That is a fantastic. I myself have 130+, I know what you mean, it can be difficult to keep up with all those discussions and folks. I do my best, but sometimes things get lost in the myLot shuffle. If I get a great topic, that I want you to look at, I will pm you. Thanks for the heads up. You are great.

Well I think you are feeling better. It does take a while to go through the friends discussions, I only have 3 pages, of my own. I find your discussions really interesting and am always glad to read the or post on them. The Mylot community is growing rapidly and I think there are new discussions being posted by the minute, which makes for it hard to go through and find everyones. I personally just check your profile for the discussions you Elusive have started, so I dont miss anything....the email does get bombarded with mylot. discussions from friends and responses, so I choose not to have this turned on either. Thanks, have a good day and hope you are feeling better.

Can you please help me to understand what advantage does it give us by making friends here on this site. Does this in any way help us out in our earning or any similar kind of gain or profit ?
