Your view? Do you read cards? Do you have your cards read? Do you own them?etc.. I have 5 decks Hanson-Roberts Tarot Ancient Egyptian Oracle Cards Beginners Tarot Rider-Whyte (my regular ones) A set upstairs I just can't think of the name of and don't use that often.. lol.. I use my own book though for reading. It's a note book that I put together myself.. bits from different books and just stuff I've learned about each card and its relation to other cards and position and such I do 3 card readings often or I'll use the cross formation to do a full reading. I get the lady who's reading are offered on my website to do my readings. She's incredible and she has tons of decks .. tarot.. angel.. archangel.. some are listed on her page @ Silver Sity. She has a deck of Native American Wisdom Cards that is so accurate is scares me some times.

Ah there's nothing like some decent replies are there? ^ I do use tarot cards now and again although I think I've said before I prefer to use my dowsing crystals. I do have a couple of sets of tarot though, one of which is a dragon set. Usually if I go and see my psychic she uses the tarot and they usually work well on me.

I did a bit of searching online when I first read your response about the dragon set. Nice. I think I may be ordering myself a set when I get the extra cash.

I have had my cards read 2x and both times she was right on. The first was I would recieve unexpected money. With in two weeks I had recieved a check for $250 from a doctors office. (Yes I said a Dr.!) It seems my insurance had decided to go ahead and pay for the proceedure.(Yes I said the insurance co. paid for an uncovered procedure) The second I was told An older couple would introduce me to someone named John that would be important in my life. Well they did interduce me to tim, but we later relized his middle name WAS John. I would get another if given the chance!! I am a christen, and am not afaid of your believes. I am happy to know you haave some type of faith, even if it is not the same as mine. =o}

My interests used to include cards, astrology, numerology and palmistry. i had lots of books on these subjects and even bought my own set of tarot cards. however i became so busy with life that i don't have to time to delve into them again. perhaps when i had more time for myself, i'll start over.

Way back in the day, I had quite a collection of those kind of books. I had to move and leave them behind. I entrusted them to my sister who assured me she'd bring them up in the summer when she came up and then turned around and gave them to someone else to sell in a garage sale. I've got a couple books now but nothing like I used to have.

I also think cards are a wonderful item to collect. I have several decks and I use them for different occasions. 1 deck is just for my closest circle of friends, 1 is for advice for my and my husband, 1 is for when I do reading parties. I think my favorite is The Goddess Tarot, it really is so beautiful and stands so strong with each of it's symbols. My favorite is the pentacle spread. The positions of the cards change each time though, I, like you, keep a notebook and write down anything that comes with the reading, makes life interesting!

I've tried the pentacle spread but find that the celtic cross spread is easier for me to read personally.

I have used many decks but the first and only one that really talks to me is the celtic dragon tarot for which i never even opened the description book i wish i still had the deck now though i also own crowleys thoth deck and the native american tarot which i rarley use anymore there are many things that can be learned about self and others and caution is needed when using any kind of divination tool

I love tarot cards, personally. I only have one deck, and im not pleased too much with the deck. I forget who made it, but it's a dragon tarot deck. It's alright, but I dont feel them like I'd like to. So i'm looking for a better deck... (plus, my hermit card went missing... Go figure it'd be that card:P) I was raised christian (mormon) and have strong ties to some of the fundementals it teaches. But many christian religions ignore the most important thing in the world: Ourselves. Our intuition. Our ability to percieve and analyze, and logical deduction... Tarot cards can be mysterious, there is certainly something special about them. But I'm a science person, and firmly believe it isn't just some magical force. I think it's a combination of our will (some say you can 'set the deck' while shuffling, subconsiously) and our.. whats a good word for it. our karma? Our auras. Our spirit... That explains when you ask the cards about a lover, and the very first card you turn is the lovers card (creepy.. .). But as for the general reading of tarot cards, I think it mostly has to do with our ability to read people and situations. You use the cards as highlights for specific traits that let you dive into the psyche of a person and find answers with them. They aren't purely future telling magic nonsense. They're quite fascinating tools of psychology. With some spirituality splashed in. (You have to understand yourself, the cards, and the person you're reading in order for it to work.) I do three kinds of readings. I do a one-card reading. (very simple, basic, gives me a mood for the day), 3 card readings (past, present, future sort of thing) and a more elaborate cross formation + 3. For much more in depth readings that can be quite fun. While I say that I'm a scientific person, I also think that there is some science in spirituality that can't be quantified. Though, somewhere, there is a science behind it. Humans are amazing creatures that can do amazing things. The cards are just a way for us to display our incredible abilities.^.^ Thats how I feel, at least;)

I am actually in the process of learing how to read them, I'm using a beginner book/deck. I also have a halloween deck,mini cards and I've borrowed the Medicine Woman Tarot from my aunt,which looks like the hardest one to read. I think they are fun to collect.

The medicine woman tarot:) Nice. I've got to mention those ones to the lady who does my readings. Sounds like they are right up her alley. And I'm going to look into the hallowe'en ones for myself.. that's my favorite occasion :)

*whistles* 65 decks? Awesome. I've published a book through Lulu myself..finally after alot of trial and error. But if you do publish I think I'd like to buy it. I seem to have a rough time finding real excellent tarot books. I own two decks, I didn't keep the boxes so I have no idea what decks they are. One's a small travel deck, and the other are kinda bigger than my hands. I prefer the travel one though. I just wotk best with it. I've only read them for a couple years, and it's more intuitive for me than book knowledge. They have a tendency to remind me of wat I already know lol..and they seem to dodge my questions most of the time. The only time they actually answer my questions it seems is when I'm reading for someone else. Anyway, I've never had my cards read for me.

65 decks! Wow! And I thought my friend had alot. I'm not sure I could find room for that many decks... lol... I'm slowly putting together a book that I'm probably going to self-publish through www.lulu.com.

I'm not sure that it's a matter of believing in the cards. They are simply a tool to use to focus your own thoughts. They can bring to your attention what is already in your subconcious, give you another way of looking at your problems and coming up with a solution. They don't neccesarily predict the future. They just give you a certain perspective of it. What you do is still up to you.

I've been reading the tarot for over 30 years, most of them professionally, and I have quite a few decks now. The one I use the most is the Witches' Tarot. Currently I read them mainly on the Second Life website and I also teach tarot reading there. As long as you see them as what they are, a tool to access your subconscious, they should work well for you. They're not really anything to do with fortune-telling - yes, they can predict the future, but only in terms of possibilities, rather than definites. At the end of the day, you have freewill and can make your own decisions. No one should let their life be ruled by 78 pieces of coloured cardboard. It isn't the cards themselves that have the power, it's the person using them. I have obtained equally accurate results using Trivial Pursuit cards. I know a lot of people disagree with me, but I genuinely don't believe they have any power of their own whatsoever.

I have 1 tarot deck, and I belive it is by Sasha Fenton. I've had this deck for many years. I've done many readings over the years for people, and they always tell me how accurate the reading was.
