Everyone in my family has tattoos. My two brothers have lots of tattoos. One even has a tattoo all the way down his arm. A bit extreme for me. But my sister has a little tattoo on her ankle. Not sure if I should get one or not. Maybe I think it will hurt to much. Do you have tattoos. Have painful was it to get????

i dont have a tattoo..but it wouldnt hurt because it is done under sedation....i mean it is pricking you with needles..they wouldnt do it without anaesthesia...and i think you should get one if u want one...not cause everyone in your family has one..

Some people say it hurts, some say it doesn't, some say it is bearable. I have always wanted to get a butterfly tattoo. My sister said we could both go and have one done. I am squeemish about it. I am not sure I can tolerate the pain.

Getting a tattoo is a personal choice that xhouldn't be made because of others. You should be really sure you want a tattoo as removal is not a pleasant experience. I had a friend that had a tattoo removed because of her wedding dress showing it across her back.
I consider myself real tolerant of pain. But certain things hurt more than others. I could endure childbirth much better than I can deal with a toothache. I think the end result and the reason you are experiencing the pain can affect how much it hurts. I never found it to be very painful. Getting a tattoo is one that I consider worth the discomfort because of the outcome. I know that I'm going to have this beautiful piece of artwork on me that I can be proud of when it's all said and done.
Another thing to consider is the fact that nearly everyone is nervous when they go to get a tattoo. I don't care how many you already have, there is always a feeling of apprehension when you sit in the chair. This is your body's natural defense - endorphins. Your own endorphins will kick in and help to ease any pain or discomfort you are about to deal with. The first 60 seconds is usually the worst, and then when you realize it's just not that bad, you calm down and the rest is smooth sailing.
Good luck with whatever you decide. I would start small in an inconspicious place in case you decide you really didn't want it...lol

well it's very personal. I am not really into tattoos...they're permanent and i don't wanna risk it, but when i see them on other ppl some of them are cool. If you're not absolutely convinced i'd wait, you have time. And then you can always get a small one in a non visible area so that it is not too shocking for you and the rest.

I don't have any tattoos. I always want to get one but I am afraid of needles. If you don't want one for the moment, it won't hurt to wait until later when you finally want to.

The first thing you need to think about is whether you actually want a tattoo or not, if you feel you should have a tattoo just because your family members have them then it's probably not a good choice to go for one as you may regret it later. But if you definately want a tattoo then go for it. I have a tattoo and it's wasn't that painful to get it done, there was a burning sensation, but it wasn't majorly painful. If your still undecided then why don't you have a tattoo shopping day where you go to all the tattoo parlours and have a look at their artwork, it may be that you don't see anything you like and decide to leave it for a while, or you may see something that is perfect for you.

Getting a tattoo is a very personal choice. They are not painful, a bit like a cat scratch, and you must keep them clean and moisturised until the skin heals. I have four tattoos and I'm in the middle of designing another one.
