Hi guys and girls....Vista has just been released worldwide and in case some of you already have had the chance to test it i'd like to know what you think of it. Should i upgrade from XP to Vista? some say its much better, others that those bouncing windows are awful hehe...what do you think?

Stay with whatever your using for at least two years. Vista is way too buggy, and not real safe. In time, it may become a cool operating system for a high end gaming machine. By then, it will definately become more affordable as Microsoft starts plans for whatever new whatsis they plan to toss out at the public.

I was planning on doing something similar Crafty..thank you. Ive heard that Vista is mainly a compilation of what Mac and other free software companies already offered, but with a poorer quality (wouldn't surprise me in a Microsoft produc, they've done so many times), do you know if any of this is true?

Vista is really visually appealing. It has some new nifty features that are just so cool. But then, Vista still has a slew of problems. The major one being its issue with compatibility. It has a long list of 'not fully compatible' hardware and software. So I'd wait for a few couple of months or until the issues get resolved. By that time, I'll abandon XP and bolt to Vista. =)

yeah i think it's a good thing to wait a while when these big programs are released. They always find bugs or failures they must fix so if you wait a bit the version you finally will install will be neater.

I use XP and I love it! I have heard good things about Vista, though I have never tried it myself yet. I like to stick with what I know....lol.

I'm interested in getting vista in the future. But I'm going to wait on upgrading my xp to vista. I want to make sure that it's been cleared of any bugs/technical problems before I rush off and check it out. But so far it sounds pretty cool. I noticed a lot of new computers have it already preloaded.

you see leaving aside the comparison part, many of the upcoming softwares and even games have not been fully tested on vista and continue to run on the xp platform so i guess it would take some more time for vista to popularize...so you can wait for sumtime and check out how its performing and then may be take a decision!

hmmm, if your hardware allready to move with vista than you should try it, but what I meant ready is not just a minimal requrement that request by microsoft, I think at least you must provide dobel power on everthing minimal requerment from microsoft to get the power of real vista ^^!, otherwise if I were you I will be stuck with my xp for another year.

i am sticking to windows XP , when i first installed windows vista i got my ears stucked in it , it's different from windows xp , the control panel is weird , you need a very powerfull computer to run it at it nicely , but hey... others have other opinions... good luck! :)
