What do you do on a Friday night to celebrate its the weekend?

When I was working I used to always celebrate it being Friday by having a big bag of crisps and watching lots of TV.
Now I'm a stay at home mum every day seems much the same and I don't tend to treat myself at the end of the week and I think maybe I should start doing it. However eating crisps and watching TV might not be the healthiest way to do it.
Does anyone do anything special on a Friday night that maybe I could do too?

We do lots of things, rent movies, take long bubble baths, even just making a nicer than usual meal. Something to relax and get rid of the weekly stress. Otherwise eys the days run together and when I was a SAHM I got really depressed for about a year, I took impeccable care of my daughter but I ignored my own needs. I gained weight, I was unhappy and tired a lot and finally my husband told me to go back to school because I had always wanted to. You have to take the time to take care of you especially when you feel like there isn't any time to do that. :)

I do plan on going to college and doing a course, but at the moment I'm trying to decide what to do. I'm wondering whether to train to be a teaching assistant as it will fit in with the girls when they are at school.
I'm not really that unhappy being at home, and I do get Saturday nights off when they go to their Dad so I do get to go out then which is great.

Oh I didn't mean to imply that I was unhappy I was very happy but just not in myself. It did teach me how not to get to that point again though so now I can tell when I'm getting stressed out and fix it.
Also it might be fun to start a little friday night tradition even with your kids because it can be something special that you do often even when you don't have the money or time to do big special things all the time. We have a ton of board games of all kinds so that theres something for everyone. My little girl loves Hi Ho Cherry O, Candyland, and Elephun lol.

Before I got pregnant, my husband and I would go out every Friday.. usually to dinner and a movie, sometimes out to dinner and then to a party, or to go see a band. Now, we've moved across the country, I've stopped working and I'm nearly 8 months pregnant. I can't go out anymore due to the smoke in bars, and we're trying not to eat out as often to save money, and it's bloody cold outside! Tonight, and most Fridays, we will go get some yummmy veggie burritos, a few DVD's, and a dessert to split... tonight will be turtle cheesecake. Then, we hole up in our bedroom with our dogs, eat take-out and watch movies... we usually trade massages during the first movie, digest, eat dessert and then cuddle and/or fool around right before bed. Not the most exciting thing ever... but we enjoy it! I have to remember that even though I stay at home all day, Friday's are still special to my husband... he's off a long work week. And Saturday mornings are reserved for sleeping in and then going out for coffee and crepes.... tomorrow I'm having one with brie and warm apple compote! It's the little rituals in life I look foreward to :-) good luck creating your own!

Just got back from crepes and coffee.. had a rather pleasant Friday night.. I forgot to mention that we don't watch t.v. during the week, so on Fridays a lot of times we'll rent a bunch of back episodes of t.v. shows and watch as many as we can before bed.. our favorites are Lost, Desperate Housewives, Project runway, and the office.
It's great because movies are over in 2 hours, but Lost can give me 4 hours of uninterrupted entertainment before I tire of it!

mmm cheesecake.
It would be great to snuggle up with someone tonight as I'm feeling cold. Unfortuantely my boyfriend is busy.
What you do might not sound exciting, but it would be ideal for me.

You sound just like me. I am always on the internet when the girls are in bed, and switch the TV on as soon as I come down from putting them to bed just for the company.
At least the internet is a way of being able to communicate with real people and feel part of something outside the kids.

This weekend, I have a meeting with my brothers and sisters to share about the property left behind by our parents. It is prime property in the heart of the city and my brothers are not keen on giving equal share to the sisters and I am voting for equal rights to everyone. It is likely that everyone of us going to get a piece of the property, everyone seem to be in jovial mood.

Well since I'm in college the party scene is pretty prevalent. I usually go out with friends and have a good time at a party or just chill out drinking with a few friends. Its usually pretty fun since everyone is tired of studying and ready to party.

I usually go out partyig. but as i'm getting older (23) i realise it's time to settle down. and sometimes it's hard to stay in on a friday night -it just feels so wrong! but i know that i have to start looking after myself.
I suggest make friday night movie night with your husband. My fiance and I are starting to spend more quality time together. Sometimes we go bowling, to the movies, or just out to get icecream.
Why not make friday night treat night with your husband?

Friday is not my favorite day. My boyfriend is working long day on Fridays and I spent it on cleaning and organizing thing for weekend. Traffic is bad on Friday, so I never go shopping or do to much on Fridays.
Just me and my pets:)And mylot:)

Well on Friday nights to celebrate the end of the week I used to go out dancing but now a days I cannot do this at this time due to I have swollen feet, but I really do miss my dancing so I do not go out that much any more and stay at home and watch the television instead but once my feet are a lot better I shall go back and start dancing again as I found it a very good exercise as well.

When I was working, (second shift) we would all go out for a few drinks. Now, I put the kids to bed, and do a movie (unless there is something good on tv) Sometimes paint my nails or give my self a facial. (Hubby works weekends, so my Friday nights are without him :(
