I have had this question in my mind for the longest time.. If identical twins married another identical twins, will their children be twins? Or look alike?

I had twins as friends who got married toother identical twins. But their children were neither twins, nor did they look alike. We always make fun of them confusing their partners:)

Wow, so kinda answered my question.. Seems like twins marrying twins don't end up having children that are identical.. Thanks!

Identical twins are not hereditary, they just happen. Faternal twins are heditary. The older you are the higher your chance of having twins is. My mom had identical twins at 35.

Well first of all twins usually skip a generation so the chance that either of the couples will have twins are pretty low. Now their children could easily have twins but it is not a guarantee. I am a twin and my neice is pregnant right now but she is only having one child. My daughter has a chance of having twins too. There is a chance that the children could look alike since the parents of both are so much alike. I have know twins who have dated twins but only one couple got married and had kids, while the other couple broke up.

I had neighbors that were twins that married twins. I don't know if they were identical but when they had children it was very difficult to know what kids belonged to whom.

When you said it was hard to distinguish whose kids belong to whom what do you mean? Does that mean they look somewhat alike?

i dont have any scientific knowledge abot this, but as a layman, i think that since both couples have the genes of twins, i think the probability should be higher for them to have twins. but what is more intriguing for me is the fact that hoboth couples would recognise their respective spouses..lol.. what if one sleeps with his spouses sister by mistake, will they confront it the next day?? hahahahah!!! i always always think of this! good topic! sorry for adding this wife-swapping twist to my response, but i really wanted to share my thought!

hey smints you look more pretty in this pic but anyway coming to the topic..if identical twins marry identical twins...1st point there will be lot of confusion in the family..2nd point if they have children there will be some dissimilarity between them....

wow thanks for the complement. Well yeah that's kinda gonna be confusing on who's who.. but I think they'll be able to recognize one from the other. Like all twins doesn't look exactly the same, well all the twins that I know, I can tell who's who.

that is not necessary for the children also to be twins like their parents.

they would probably and normally be born alike.but there is aslim probablity that they would also bear twins because of their geneological make up.

Genetically, each couple's children will be siblings. So, they'll look about as much alike as any set of brothers or sisters.
